NATIONAL SECURITY
Trump, GOP lawmakers eye 'illegal' leaks in wake of Flynn resignation
Published February 14, 2017 · FoxNews.com
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/02/14/trump-gop-lawmakers-eye-illegal-leaks-in-wake-flynn-resignation.html

"In the wake of Michael Flynn’s resignation as national security
adviser, President Trump and Republican allies on Capitol Hill are
turning their attention to the potentially “illegal” leaks that
revealed Flynn's politically fatal discussions with a Russian diplomat
and other sensitive details from inside the administration.

Fox News first reported Monday night that House Intelligence Committee
Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., wants the FBI to conduct an assessment
   of recent media leaks.

TOP REPUBLICAN WANTS FBI REVIEW ON TRUMP LEAKS

The president, after accepting Flynn’s resignation overnight, tweeted
Tuesday morning that, “The real story here is why are there so many
illegal leaks coming out of Washington?”

Flynn echoed that point. Asked Tuesday morning whether the leaks were
targeted, coordinated and possibly a violation of the law, Flynn told
Fox News: “Yes, yes and yes.”

Flynn resigned following reports that he had spoken with the Russian
ambassador about sanctions, after having apparently given Vice
President Pence “incomplete information” on the issue. Pence, based on
that information, previously had claimed Flynn did not discuss
   sanctions with the Russian official.

Such conversations would breach diplomatic protocol and possibly
violate the Logan Act, a law aimed at keeping private citizens from
conducting U.S. diplomacy. The Justice Department also had warned the
White House late last month that Flynn could be in a compromised
position because of contradictions between his public depictions of the
calls and what intelligence officials knew to be true based on routine
recordings of communications with foreign officials who are in the U.S.

Yet the leak itself is raising serious questions -- because when the
intelligence community captures phone calls of an American inside the
U.S., even if the discussion involves a foreign national (in this case
an ambassador), steps must be taken to shield the American caller's
   identity.

Recent leaks also have revealed reported details from phone calls
between Trump and the leaders of Australia and Mexico and from the
intelligence community investigation into Russian interference in the
   U.S. presidential campaign.

"If [the Flynn conversation] was picked up inadvertently, then that
would have had to have been approved by someone in the last
administration to actually unmask his name so that the FBI or
intelligence officials knew who it was on the other end of the phone
talking to the Russian ambassador," Nunes told Fox News. "If, in fact,
the press reports are right, someone made the decision to deliberately
listen to General Flynn's phone calls and that is, I think,
   unprecedented, unwarranted and flat-out wrong."

Nunes said he is going to “be asking the FBI to do an assessment of
this to tell us what's going on here because we cannot continue to have
   these leaks as a government."

Senate homeland security committee Chairman Ron Johnson, R-Wis., told
Fox News that “somebody in the nebulous intelligence community” would
have had access to the Flynn discussions.

“Who tapped the phones, who was listening to it, who leaked it? I think
those are legitimate questions to ask,” he told Fox News on Tuesday.
“Leaks of this nature are incredibly damaging to America … and we need
   to look into it.”

A congressional source told Fox News they believe the intelligence was
known to a small circle of Obama administration officials and
appointees at the end of last year, including some working within the
intelligence community -- and the leaks were targeted and coordinated
   to undermine the administration.

House Democrats, meanwhile, want to know more about the nature of
   Flynn’s contact with Russia.

"… Flynn's departure does not end questions over his contacts with the
Russians, which have been alleged to have begun well before December
29,” Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., top Democrat on the House intelligence
committee, said in a statement. “These alleged contacts and any others
the Trump campaign may have had with the Kremlin are the subject of the
House Intelligence Committee's ongoing investigation. Moreover, the
Trump administration has yet to be forthcoming about who was aware of
Flynn's conversations with the ambassador and whether he was acting on
the instructions of the president or any other officials, or with their
   knowledge."

Fox News’ Catherine Herridge and The Associated Press contributed to
   this report.

Kellyanne Conway: Flynn's Resignation the Result of a 'Cumulative Effect'
Feb 14, 2017 // 9:17am   As seen on Fox & Friends
http://insider.foxnews.com/2017/02/14/kellyanne-conway-michael-flynn-national-security-adviser-resigns

"President Donald Trump's Senior Counselor Kellyanne Conway joined "Fox
& Friends" Tuesday to discuss the resignation of Michael Flynn as
   national security adviser.

Flynn stepped down in the wake of revelations surrounding conversations
he had with the Russian ambassador last year and several reports that
he was not honest with Vice President Mike Pence about the situation,
Fox News chief White House correspondent John Roberts reported.

Conway said the situation became increasingly untenable for Flynn,
   leading to his resignation.

"In the end, he (Flynn) felt that he had misled or misrepresented all
the facts to the president and vice president," Conway said. "For that
he was enormously and deeply sorry."

Conway said Flynn's 30-plus years of service as a military official and
intelligence officer should not be overlooked in the wake of his
   resignation.

"In this particular case, there was an incident or so that just became
unsustainable for him to carry on in that role, and that was the
decision he made and the president accepted his resignation. ... It's
not a particular contact or incident by itself. It's really the
cumulative effect of that leading to incomplete or misleading forgetful
   information," Conway said.

In a statement, Flynn admitted he inadvertently briefed Pence with
incomplete information regarding his correspondence with Kislyak. He
added that the conversation with Kislyak was to "facilitate a smooth
transition and begin to build necessary relationships."

According to reports, former acting Attorney General Sally Yates
informed Trump that Flynn was vulnerable to Russian blackmail attempts.

After Flynn's resignation, Trump named Gen. J. Keith Kellogg as interim
national security adviser. Conway said the president will take his time
in considering who is the best fit to fill this role.

The Firing of NSA Michael Flynn: Who and What? Why it Was Inevitable!
by MILLENNIUM Reporter , Tuesday, February 14, 2017 11:30

Hillary Clinton tweeted the morning after Flynn's resignation as
National Security Director, and his “shadow move” by Trump to the spy
agency known as the Bureau of Intelligence and Research (INR),  the
following : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZuuqJ_oHUw
7 hours before his resignation as NSC, Flynn had ordered the
confiscation of a Israeli manufactured airplane located in Miami, owned
by the Executive Vice President of Venezuela, Tareck Zaidan El Aissami
Maddah (El Aissami) :
https://www.treasury.gov/press-center/press-releases/Pages/as0005.aspx?src=ilaw
The heat was on for Flynn as the CIA has essential drug and trafficking
connections to Venezuela, Mexico and Afghanistan. A CIA safe house
would have been a joke, hence a Bureau of Intelligence and Research
(INR) managed safe house was ordered within 7 hours. As the Counsel to
the President mentioned to Matt Lauer, General Michael Flynn had become
a lightning rod, so things happened as they did :

Oddly enough the next day CNN was forced to shutdown operations in
Venezuela :

From unofficial and of the record rumors [1] its stated that President
Donald Trump by accepting the resignation of his National Security
Advisor on Monday, Feb 13, 2017, retired Lieutenant General Michael
Flynn was in effect abruptly “shadow moved” from the White House to the
most powerful, and secretive, American spy agency known as the Bureau
of Intelligence and Research (INR)—and that occurred exactly 7 hours
after General Flynn personally directed the US Department Of The
Treasury to place immediate sanctions on Venezuelan Vice President
Tareck El Aissami and his associate Samark José López Bello for them
being international drug traffickers linked to the CIA, Islamic
radicals and the Clinton Crime Family. With this move Flynn's 24-day
tenure as National Security Advisor also became known as the shortest
in the 63-year history of the office.
On the day that President Trump was sworn in, on Jan 20, 2017, and
officially obtained power, General Flynn, in his new position as
National Security Advisor, tasked Robin Townley - a former
intelligence officer in the US Marine Corps - as his aide to begin
investigations into the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and its
connections to international drug cartels. One of the first
“discoveries” made about the CIA’s involvement with international drug
trafficking by Townley, was the frequent use of an aircraft identified
as a 2006 Israel Aircraft Industries Gulfstream 200 (tail number
N200VR
) owned by a company named 200G PSA Holdings LLC in Miami,
Florida—and that, in turn, is owned by Samark José López Bello. On
Monday Feb 13 General Flynn had ordered its immediate capture in a
sanction order issued by the US Treasury [2]:

“Five U.S. companies owned or controlled by Lopez Bello and/or MFAA
Holdings Limited have also been blocked as part of today's action.
These entities are the following limited liability companies
registered in Florida:  1425 Brickell Ave 63-F LLC; 1425 Brickell
Avenue Unit 46B, LLC; 1425 Brickell Avenue 64E, LLC; Agusta Grand I
LLC; and 200G PSA Holdings LLC.  Additionally, a U.S.-registered
aircraft with the tail number N200VR has been identified as blocked
property owned or controlled by 200G PSA Holdings LLC.”

Already a week earlier Townley had been confronted with strange
blow-back from the `Intelligence Community'. An essential part of his
new Job at the NSC was to obtain the required security clearance.
Strangely enough, in spite of having maintained for multiple years
the highest top-secret clearance rating in existence
inside the US, the
new needed NSC clearance was flatly denied :

"A senior aide to Michael Flynn, National Security Adviser to United
States President Donald Trump, will have to step down from his post
because his application for a security clearance was rejected, say
sources. Flynn had chosen Robin Townley, a former intelligence officer
in the US Marine Corps, to serve as Senior Director for Africa on the
National Security Council, a forum chaired by the president, which
makes key decisions on domestic and foreign issues. Townley, who is
described as “one of Flynn’s closest deputies”, held a top-secret
security clearance for many years during his government career. But
joining the National Security Council requires a so-called “sensitive
compartmented information” clearance. This elite-status clearance
allows designated individuals to access government programs and
operations that are deemed highly sensitive.

According to Politico, Townley’s application for a sensitive
compartmented information clearance was rejected last week. The news
website cited two anonymous sources “with direct knowledge of the
situation”, who said that Townley was informed on Friday that his
application had been rejected. The rejection came from the Central
Intelligence Agency, said Politico. One source told the website that
the rejection had been met with agreement by Mike Pompeo, President
Trump’s appointee to head the CIA. Townley cannot reapply for
clearance, which means that he will have to give up his National
Security Council post. Flynn will have to replace him.

The Politico report claims that Flynn and his team were “infuriated” by
the CIA’s decision, which is expected to further-escalate tensions
between the retired lieutenant-general and the Intelligence Community.
Flynn has been criticized for his allegedly close connections to the
administration of Russian President Vladimir Putin. In 2015, he
delivered a speech in Moscow in return for a fee, and dined with Putin.
Earlier this year, the Federal Bureau of Investigation investigated a
telephone conversation between Flynn and Sergey Kislyak, Russia’s
ambassador to the US, as part of a counterintelligence probe. Last
week, The Washington Post alleged that Flynn and Kislyak discussed the
topic of American economic sanctions on Russia, and that Flynn told the
Russian diplomat that they would be lifted by the Trump administration.

The Politico report said that Flynn’s team views the rejection of
Townley’s security clearance application as “a hit job from inside the
CIA on Flynn and the people close to him”. It also said that Flynn’s
team believe that the Intelligence Community feels “threatened by Flynn
and his allies”. The website contacted the National Security Council
and the CIA but received no responses.

   Author: Ian Allen | Date: 13 February 2017 | Permalink "

Within a few hours of the CIA stunningly denying US military
intelligence operative Robin Townley a NSC security clearance, the US
spy agency, aided by its mainstream “fake news” media propagandists,
began an anonymous press campaign against General Flynn accusing him of
having a secret conversation regarding sanctions President Obama had
placed on the Russian Federation with Ambassador Sergey Kislyak prior to
President Trump taking power. A recent FBI report however proved
these accusations to be false. Public release of the entire recording
and transcript of the telephone conversation, were denied by the Trump
administration without offering an explanation for doing so.
Nearly 3 hours after the White House had refused to release the exact
details of the conversation, General Flynn suddenly resigned from his
position as Trump’s National Security Advisor. Only 30 minutes later US
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson placed a “personal/confidential”
phone-call to President Putin. Although the exact details of what was
discussed remain classified, an hour after consultation the Security
Council (SC) issued a directive that all international security matters
previously coordinated with the US National Security Council were to
immediately cease and be redirected, instead, to the US State
Departments Bureau of Intelligence and Research (INR).
An important note about the INR, is that it’s actually the modern day
variant of the powerful Office of Strategic Services (OSS), which was
the wartime intelligence agency of the United States during World War
II and was founded on 1 October 1945 — and whose names and current
number of employees, and its budget, remains one of the most highly
classified secrets in American history

Flynn and Townley currently seem to operate within the INR, as urgent
requests by INR for “files/documents/etc.” on both Venezuelan Vice
President Tareck El Aissami and his associate Samark José López Bello
were made the next day — thus proving that both Flynn and Townley are
now conducting their investigation of the CIA’s partnership with
international drug cartels outside “normal channels”.
