Kathleen Kennedy
made her a Knight/Dame of the Grand Cross (GBE)

Donald R. Kennedy

I'm posting this because these are the fake Kennedy's and have no
relation to John F. Kennedy, Joseph P. Kennedy Sr. (Joe) and Robert F. Kennedy (Bobby)
wrong dad in above posting, so it seems :

Retired Superior Court Judge Donald Kennedy and his wife, Margaret.
Stephen Baker
Longtime Shasta County Superior Court Judge Donald Kennedy, known for
his wit, sense of humor and fairness, died Tuesday at his home in
Redding.
"He was a great man, period. He really was. He was very bright, very
insightful and very well-read," said Redding lawyer Joe Gazzigli. "He
was one of the really well-rounded judges because of his background."
Grandson Cameron Middleton of Redding said he died at home with his
wife, Margaret, and three daughters with him. He was 90 years old.
Kennedy was a World War II Navy veteran and a graduate of the
University of California at Berkeley. After college he worked as a
police officer in Berkeley while pursuing his law degree at Hastings
College of the Law in San Francisco.
At the age of 31 he was appointed district attorney in Trinity County
in 1959. He eventually moved over the mountains to Redding where he
joined a private law firm in Redding.
Gazzigli said he moved to Redding in 1972 to work for the Shasta County
District Attorney's Office. Lawyers would regularly get together after
work for cocktails, he said.
"It was a fairly congenial, small group at the time," Gazzigli said.
"He was extremely well thought of by the entire bar – all sections."
Kennedy was appointed to the Redding Justice Court in 1979 and in 1982
he was sworn in as a Superior Court judge, said Melissa Fowler-Bradley,
Shasta County Superior Court executive officer.
He retired from the court on Dec. 8, his birthday, in 1995.
Fowler-Bradley said Kennedy was known throughout the state. Before she
went to work in Shasta County in the 1990s, a judge she worked with in
Alameda County told her to tell Kennedy hello.
"He was an exceptional jurist, respected throughout the state and known
for his good nature," Shasta County Superior Court Judge Stephen Baker
said.
"He was real gregarious, very friendly and yet completely serious on
the bench," said Baker, whose father Robert served as district attorney
in Shasta County.
In addition to his work as a judge, Kennedy was involved in downtown
Redding improvements and Redding Municipal Airport.
After his retirement, Kennedy and his wife, Margaret, divided their
time between Redding and Newport, Oregon, where he was active with the
Hatfield Marine Science Center.
When Stephen Baker's father died, Kennedy arranged to have a special
service held in Shasta County courts for him.
Court officials are holding a special session for Kennedy at 4 p.m.
Friday in Department 1 at the Shasta County Justice Center,
Fowler-Bradley said.
The family is also planning a service from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at
Riverview Golf and Country Club in Redding.
He is survived by his wife and three daughters, Kathleen Kennedy, a
world-renowned filmmaker and president of Lucasfilm Ltd; Dana
Silberstein, a retired broadcast journalist and adviser to former
Washington Gov. Gary Locke; Connie Kennedy, a film producer in Los
Angeles; stepson Ricky Phillips, a member of the rock band Styx;
Michael Phillips, a dancer, choreographer and founder of the Urban Cat
League in New York City; and grandchildren Cameron Middleton of Redding
and Lilian and Meghan Marshall of Los Angeles.
