Title: Greetings
Post by: sublumen on January 26, 2010, 03:37:07 PM
I never know how much to say in these self-introductory posts, but here goes.

My name is John.  I'm from Arkansas.  Not a young man by any means, I think of myself as having been "awake" for many years.  Initially it was the acknowledgment of the fact that the government lied to its citizens, corporate media to their consumers.  I began researching the JFK assassination as best I could in junior high in the last 1960s after reading an essay by Jim Garrison [my first real exposure to "conspiracy theory"].

Over the many ensuing years I've swung like a pendulum from apolitical apathy to insomnia-inducing immersion.  But until the last year or so I labored mostly alone in my desire for more knowledge, deeper understanding.  About a year or so ago I discovered ConCen, which was a very good thing.  Through ConCen I discovered Jones/Bermas/Tarpley/et al -- in the larger picture, not as much of a good thing.

Thanks to ConCen I was eventually exposed to voices like Ognir and TFC.  Listening to them was a bit like a slap in the face.  I thought I was awake before but I'm seeing now that it was only in sort of a superficial sense, and life is too short to continue in that state any longer.

Well, I'm here to learn, not to ramble on about myself.  I'm happy to have found TiU and I'm grateful for the opportunity to be here.

Wow... sublumen is here! :D

Welcome and congrats on fully waking up from all the lies, deceptions and fake messiahs and truth tellers! Enjoy your stay bro.

Thanks for the warm, welcoming words.

I do think I'll enjoy being here.

But, more importantly, I hope that spending time here will for me be an object lesson in the invalidity of that ol' adage about old dogs and new tricks.

sublumnen,

If you haven't seen it, our most popular thread: 40K+ views so far: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5367 (http://theinfounderground.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5367)

Also, read what Brandon, guy who wrote it, says about his learnings: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=9436#p35753 (http://theinfounderground.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=9436#p35753)

This will dispel any accusations that we are somehow "jew haters"... a thing that some Zionists & neonazis accuse us of.

Thanks for the pointer, Mike.  The next couple of days are going to be quite busy for me, but by this weekend I hope to get started doing a LOT of reading.

Thanks for the welcome, Rockclimber.  How come nobody ever told me how nice people are here ?!

And Ognir, well, I guess I could say old habits die hard.  I feel kind of funny about stopping those uploads.  For months about a hundred people a day have relied on me for those shows, and there's a little sense that I'm going to be letting them down.  On a more intellectual level, though, I can see a cogent argument that those people would probably benefit from not having a steady supply of that mental mush.  And I surely know that I'm going to benefit from having that time available to read and listen to things that are going to be more edifying for me.  So, yeah, it's about to come to an end.

It's a blood bath out there and we are often in hostile territory.    This is neutral territory for us, but people are really nice here. :)
