notice that Intel is on the list, but not AMD.

Intel seems to be quite proud of their Israel affiliations.  They have development centers and fabrication facilities in Israel.

AMD is nowhere to be found on the boycott list.

Disclosure - I have zero financial interest in either Intel or AMD.

So I thought I would make some technical suggestions on how to honor the boycott, if you are buying a computer.

In terms of comparing Intel & AMD products, I would suggest comparing the Intel 8600, a 3 GHz + CPU, and the AMD Regor 250, a 3.1 GHz dual core CPU.  The Intel 8600 is about $250; the AMD 250 is about $70.

The closest I have to the Intel 8600 is the Intel 6850 (3 GHz CPU from the previous generation, in 2008).  I also have the AMD 245 (stock speed is 2.9 GHz).  The AMD 245 is faster, even though it's clock speed at stock speeds is .1 GHz lower.

On the Quad Core end, AMD has the Phenom 2 940 for $155

... you can get them for $140 if you bring your own heat sink fan.

It is comparable to the Intel 9550, Intel 9650, and the newer Intel 750.

AMD also has a cheap fast quad core CPU, the Athlon 2 Propus 620, 630, & 635.  I paid $107 for the 630.  It is comparable to the Intel 9550 that I paid $280 for, and to the Intel 750, that costs $200.

I use the AMD Regor 245 and the Propus 630 both with the Gigabyte MA785GM-US2H motherboard -

$80, just as solid as the Intel-compatible motherboards that I have paid 2 to 3 times as much for.

Anyway, I just thought I'd mention how to honor the boycott of Israel, at least on the computer front.
