The Rosh Pina Project

an alternative look at Messianic Jews

About

The Rosh Pina Project is an online meeting place for Messianic Jews and all those who believe that Messianic Jews deserve fair treatment in Israel and the Diaspora, and protection as a religious minority in Israel. Joe and Gev, both affiliated with Messianic Jewish fellowships, are currently the main contributors to this site. The Rosh Pina Project will be highlighting the persecution of Messianic Jews in Israel, unfair treatment of Messianic Jews in the mainstream media, and post cultural and political reviews.

Are Messianic Jews Commanded To Keep Kosher?

This is Part Five of a series on Messianic Jews and the Torah

The laws of Leviticus call on all Jews to abstain from boiling a kid animal in its mother's milk, from the meet of hooved animals such as a pig, and from shellfish. Halachic Judaism has since added a variety of stipulations to protect and bolster the Biblical kosher laws. But are Messianic Jews bound to observe kosher food? Are there certain foods we cannot eat? Do we offend God by eating cheeseburgers and ham sandwiches? Can we only eat in kosher McDonalds?

Is the Messiah divine?

This is a guest post by David M. Cook of Advent of Messiah

Many of the Rabbis and religious leaders of the Jewish community today do not now believe that Messiah is divine and therefore is one of the reasons they reject Jesus as the Messiah since He claimed to be the Son of God.  (Although, certainly the Messianic Jewish Rabbis do believe Messiah is the Son of God.)

Evidently, these Rabbis who do not believe that Moshiach/Mashiach (Messiah) is divine have overlooked their own scriptures (or perhaps do not understand them or worse yet do not believe the Tanakh).

The Law of Messiah

This is a guest post by Levitt, and is Part Four of a series on Messianic Jews and Torah.

In Matthew 5, Yeshua starts to reveal something new and different from what has gone before: the Kingdom of Heaven or Kingdom of God. This is a vast topic, and I write with a trepidation as I only understand a little of what the Kingdom is. I understand tiny parts, occasionally I get a glimpse of this glorious Kingdom, and I want to share some ideas with you. Perhaps you can help me to understand as well, and make suggestions.

After the Revolution of 1905, the Czar had prudently prepared for further outbreaks by transferring some $400 million in cash to the New York banks, Chase, National City, Guaranty Trust, J.P.Morgan Co., and Hanover Trust. In 1914, these same banks bought the controlling number of shares in the newly organized Federal Reserve Bank of New York, paying for the stock with the Czar\'s sequestered funds. In November 1917,  Red Guards drove a truck to the Imperial Bank and removed the Romanoff gold and jewels. The gold was later shipped directly to Kuhn, Loeb Co. in New York.-- Curse of Canaan

I have never trusted the concept of messianic Jews, it just seems like another Crypto Jew angle. The most telling part for me is that they still call themselves Jews...that's trouble no matter how you see it.

but, who knows!
One need not be a prophet to be aware of impending dangers. An accidental combination of experience and interest will often reveal events to one man under aspects which few see.
