I was so pissed off at what I was reading on a toronto discussion forum, so I jumped in  with this:

Obviously the police have been given a quota to make for the Toronto court houses. The police just take peaceful demonstrators 1 by 1 and they do it by rushing out in groups of 6 or 7. Very simple. Its a cash grab by the courts, and they use the cops to do it. Like seriously, how stupid can you get?

Its about MONEY! Its ALWAYS about money. And they are willing to screw every single person arrested for $500....tack on a few extra charges and boom!

Do the math...lets say there was 1000 arrests, thats $500 000. 2000 arrests = $1 000 000. Get the drift?

And if you hire a lawyer, it costs money. You also need to understand that all legal people - lawyers, judges, prosecutors, defense counsel, cops, correctional cops etc, all have a license under the BAR association.

There is the problem. Because if you pay the court, you pay the BAR association. If you hire a defense lawyer, they are a member of the BAR association too!"

'Any thoughts' - I've tried mobes. The people on this forum besides you, /tab and maybe one or two others are way to far gone down the path of chasing after the symptom of the problem. In the vacuum of ignorance, no good can come of it. Focusing on the festering, systemic sores does not by itself bring the man to good health, or restore him. We want that the sores by themselves go away, however, when we point, it is the three fingers pointing back at us.

You forgot the bonds. Those $500 fees probably just keep the utility bill accounts settled for the corporate Courtroom Corporation. It's the bonds sold on the market which are the big 'money'-winners. Every-time you sign the line with an unrestricted signature; that's 'money', folks! You just made more debt.
