QuoteFrench President Nicolas Sarkozy has vowed he will not hold talks with Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad during his presidency.

Admitting his mistakes during the first year of taking power, Sarkozy promised to follow his reform drive and vowed not to talk with Iran's president, AFP reported.

He said Thursday he would not talk with president Ahmadinejad because he doesn't recognize Israel as a legitimate regime.

Critics blame President Sarkozy for following the Bush administration stance against Iran since he took office last year and criticize him for substituting Tony Blair in Europe to play the same role he played as an obedient politician in blindly following the White House policies.

The 53-year-old Sarkozy is facing a significant decline in his popularity in France because of his Foreign and domestic policies and his casual behaviors.

Analysts believe this has made him to do his best to win the favor of Washington's heart by ramping up his rhetoric against the Islamic Republic and agreeing to all Israeli demands.
