As Orange County, New York and the Town of Monroe continue to grapple with the Satmar hasidic Village of Kiryas Joel's attempt to annex 507 acres of town land into the hasidic village, opposition to the move continues to grow.

At yesterday's Monroe town board meeting, reportedly attended by at least 225 residents, an Orange County lawmaker explained one financial impact Satmar hasidim have on county, as the MidHudson News reported.
