"And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea,...And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast...  And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.  And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed... And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth,...; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live...And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.  And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:  And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name."

QuoteIntroduction

The two-headed eagle consists of the body, wings and claws of an eagle and has two heads. It is of very old origin. In the middleages it was the symbol of rank of a Roman caesar and was used by rulers wearing the title of kaiser, tsar and basileus, and also by rulers entitled imperator. These titles were used by those rulers governing one of the parts of the Roman Empire in the time of the tetrarchy when there were two caesares and two augusti each ruling a prefecture.
The two-headed eagle was the successor of the gorgoneion of pagan times, as well as of the Christian Roman Empire after Constantine...

Origin

The two-headed eagle is of Hittite origin. Early examples are from the center of the Hittite empire in central Anatolia (Asia Minor). Two-headed eagles are on seals but also on sculptures. In the last case they have other beasts in their claws and are apparently the symbol of the ruler standing on it. Thus, the two-headed eagle may have been the symbol of the tribe of the ruler but also of the ruler himself.

QuoteQuestion: "Who were the Hittites?"

Answer: Though rather obscure in the scope of world history, the Hittite nation played an important role in the history of the Old Testament, and has since helped verify the accuracy of the Bible. For many years, archaeologists and historians knew nothing of the Hittites, and critics of the Bible treated the Hittites as proof of the "mythology" contained in the Bible. The critics reasoned that, since they had no archaeological evidence of a Hittite civilization, it must never have existed, and the Bible must perforce be wrong. However, many archaeological discoveries, beginning in 1876, have since proved that the Hittites were a powerful people in the 15th and 16th centuries B.C.

The Hittites are mentioned more than 50 times in the Bible. They were descended from Heth, the son of Canaan (and great-grandson of Noah, Genesis 10:15). They ruled the area of Syria and eastern Turkey and battled with Egypt and Babylon for territory. Babylonian and Assyrian records refer to Syria and Palestine as "Hatti-land," and Joshua 1:4 includes their territory as a great part of the Promised Land for Israel. Abraham was well acquainted with the Hittites, and he bought the burial cave for Sarah from them in Genesis 23. Esau took wives from among the Hittites (Genesis 26:34), and Uriah the Hittite was one of David's mighty men (2 Samuel 11:3). The Hittites are mentioned throughout the kingdom years and even after the Jews' return from captivity (Ezra 9:1). It is assumed that the Hittites were eventually absorbed into the surrounding cultures and lost their distinctive identity.

The religion of the Hittites was a pluralistic worship of nature. They believed in various gods over the elements of earth, sky, weather, etc., and these gods were often listed as witnesses on treaties and oaths. As in most other pagan societies, this nature worship led to despicable practices which brought the wrath of the true God on them. When God delivered Canaan to the Israelites, one of the given reasons for destroying the inhabitants was to eliminate the pagan practices which would ensnare God's people (Exodus 23:28-33). God didn't want His people following the idolatry of the Hittites.

The descriptions of land transactions and personal covenants recorded in Genesis bear a strong resemblance to Hittite records discovered by archaeologists. King Telepinus was the greatest Hittite legislator, and his law codes bear a striking resemblance to the order and arrangement of the Law of Moses, although the subject matter is different. The discoveries concerning the Hittite kingdom have been a great support to the details recorded in the Bible.

QuoteDecline and fall
Following the establishment of peace with Egypt around 1280 BC, there ensued 80 years of relative peace and prosperity for much of the civilized world. During the great catastrophe circa 1200 BC, however, the Hittite empire was suddenly destroyed. The fortifications at Hattusas were thrown down and the city burned. Stone sculptures were smashed apart. It is not known by whom, but it is possible that the Hittite armies fell off in ability during decades of relative peace while the growing riches of the empire made it an ever more attractive target, probably to barbarians from the west and north. The Kaskans, barbarians from the Russian steppes, penetrated the empire around 1300 BC and plundered Hattusas. They may have returned to finish the job for good.

QuoteTHE EDOMITES IN END TIME BIBLE PROPHECY.
THIS IS AN IMPORTANT YET UNTOLD STORY.

The spirit of Esau is a parasite upon the souls of men. It never forgives. Nor will it receive forgiveness. So the human hearts over which it rules remain "unforgiven". The Edomite nurses his anger; he "keeps his wrath forever". And he never surrenders to God. He remains "unforgiven". He never finds peace with God, peace with his fellow man, or peace with himself. Unless he repents, he cannot be saved from the wrath to come. Rejecting the blood of atonement for sin he remains bloody minded in himself. Such a soul hates everyone around him. He goes to the judgment shaking his fist at God. And descends into the fires of perdition in a torment that will last forever.

The children of Jacob spawned the Judeo-Christian people, with their nurturing ethic and a culture of caring for others. Jacob was a man of the flocks and herds. He was to be found near the tents of Isaac, his father, and Rebekkah his mother. He was drawn into the character and ways of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. That was the way it was way back at the beginning. And that is the way it remains today.

Esau was Isaac's firstborn and his favorite son. He was a hunter and a free spirited man of the field. He was a wild man. Esau sold his birthright to Jacob for a mess of pottage. In this act of spiritual neglect he showed that he had very little interest in his spiritual inheritance. He was an earthy man, and a phallic sort of a man. Esau was a hustler, an exploiter of others and what others had, rather than a nurturer of plants and animals. He was motivated to "go out and get" things rather than to establish things and watch them grow. He preferred to 'take down' what he wanted in the wild. A life of cultivating plants and tending to the flocks was not for him. He sneered at culture. He rejoiced in being uncultured. Being wild at heart and a hustler was a badge of honor to him. We can certainly see that same rebellious and bullying spirit rising in our Western culture today. It is now becoming a matter of grave concern in our schools.

Genesis 36:1-3:  (Esau marries a Hittite woman contrary to his family custom)  Esau's Descendants

1Now these are the records of the generations of Esau (that is, Edom). 2Esau took his wives from the daughters of Canaan: Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Oholibamah the daughter of Anah and the granddaughter of Zibeon the Hivite; 3also Basemath, Ishmael's daughter, the sister of Nebaioth....

Genesis 27:46:  And Rebekah said to Isaac, I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth:  if Jacob take a wife of the daughters of Heth, such as these which are of the daughters of the land, what good shall my life do me?

Genesis 27:39-41 ("Esau shall rule Jacob"). The Stolen Blessing

...39Then Isaac his father answered and said to him, "Behold, away from the fertility of the earth shall be your dwelling, And away from the dew of heaven from above. 40"By your sword you shall live, And your brother you shall serve; But it shall come about when you become restless, That you will break his yoke from your neck." 41So Esau bore a grudge against Jacob because of the blessing with which his father had blessed him; and Esau said to himself, "The days of mourning for my father are near; then I will kill my brother Jacob."...

HEROD WAS AN EDOMITE RULER WHO TRIED TO KILL THE INFANT JESUS.  HEROD TOOK OVER THE JEWISH SANHEDRIN AND IT HAS BEEN AN EDOMITE INSTITUTION EVER SINCE.
http://www.bibleversestudy.com/acts/acts12-herod-edomite.htm

Quote
Who or what was "Herod" (Acts 12:1)?

The Herods were the Edomite family that ruled Israel during the time of Jesus' earthly ministry and the first Christian church. The Jewish ruling council, called Sanhedrin, was under the authority of the Herods, who were in turn under the authority of the Roman emperor...

How did Edomites come to rule over the Jews?

In 47 BC, Julius Caesar appointed Antipater, the son of the Edomite governor of Edom, to be the governor of Judea, and Herod was one of Antipater's two sons. In 40 BC, Parthians (Iranians today) attacked the Roman empire's eastern fringes and briefly conquered Judea. Herod escaped to Rome, where the Roman Senate named him "King of the Jews" and commissioned him to retake Judea, which he did in 37 BC.

Is this the same Herod as the one named in Acts 12:1?

No, the first Herod was called, "Herod the Great", mainly because he built great monuments, including the second temple of Jerusalem. He is the Herod who killed all boys under 2 years of age in Bethlehem after Jesus was born there: "Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him." When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born. So they said to him, "In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written by the prophet: 'But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, Are not the least among the rulers of Judah; For out of you shall come a Ruler Who will shepherd My people Israel.' " Then Herod, when he had secretly called the wise men, determined from them what time the star appeared. And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, "Go and search carefully for the young Child, and when you have found Him, bring back word to me, that I may come and worship Him also." When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Then, being divinely warned in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed for their own country another way. Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, "Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him." When he arose, he took the young Child and His mother by night and departed for Egypt, and was there until the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, "Out of Egypt I called My Son." Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the wise men. Then was fulfilled what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying: "A voice was heard in Ramah, Lamentation, weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, Refusing to be comforted, Because they are no more." Now when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, saying, "Arise, take the young Child and His mother, and go to the land of Israel, for those who sought the young Child's life are dead." (Matthew 2:1-20) After the death of Herod the Great, his territory was split into three, one for each of his three sons. Herod Antipas was one of them and is the one who tried Jesus. The Herod named above is Herod Agrippa I, who is the nephew of Herod Antipas. By endearing himself to successive Roman emperors, Herod Agrippa I received the three territories upon the deaths of his father and two uncles, thereby reunited the territory of his grandfather, albeit still under the rule of Rome.

Because of the coloration of his skin at birth, Esau obtained a second name, and was called "Edom," meaning "Red" (Gen.25:25; 36). Names are significant in the Scriptures.  "Red" of course is the color of blood, and bespeaks a bloody type of man, and character.  The "Red horse" of Revelation bespeaks war, and Esau was a warrior and crafty hunter who "lived by the sword."  "Red" is also the color of the Beast of Revelation, identifying Esau therefore with the final "BEAST" power (Rev.17:3-5).

I.N.R.I

In both the Quaterionanadler image at the top, whose origin is the "Holy Roman Empire" and in the later Masonic artwork of J.A. Knapp, second from the top, the inscription I.N.R.I is emblazoned at the top.  Above, I had quoted one of the esoteric decodings given as the Holy Roman Catholic meaning, that the Emperor has the right to kill impious kings.

Another meaning, a Gnostic and Alchemical one goes, Igne Natura Renovatur Integra, "by fire nature is restored in purity." This meaning is no less significant in any occult investigation of the symbols here.  And it often occurs that multiple layers of interpretation exist within one symbol, which is the whole mystery of esoteric vs. esoteric itself.

However, in prayer the Holy Spirit revealed to me another layer of meaning in the esoteric use of INRI in occult symbology.  For anyone who doesn't yet know, the exoteric and straight up meaning is "Iesus Nazarinus Rex Iudorum", the inscription Pontius Pilate had nailed to the cross,  meaning Jesus of Nazareth King of the Jews.  But taken in the context of the Hittite double headed eagle, and the line of Esau, it seems to have a third meaning:

"Iustus Necar Regnes Iudorum" = "It is just to kill the Kings of the Jews."

That the house of Esau views it as justice to have slain the king of the house of Jacob, as they did when the EDOMITE Jews killed Christ.

Michael K.

Another significant symbolic message in the Quaterionadler image at the top, is that the crucified Jesus of Nazareth appears to be rotting and pale, but the thorns about his skull are green and living; out of the top of his head appears a sprouting grain.  The frightening beast overshadows the picture, breathing out firey objects resembling internal organs which are crowned in gold crowns.

In relation to the esoteric meanings of INRI, we have the "fire restores nature's integrity" cleverly depicted; as the fire breathing beast has killed Christ ("justly") and restored the natural religion which is represented as the thorns greening and barleycorn growing from his decomposing body.

Christopher Marlowe

QuoteJohn 19:19-22And Pilate wrote a title also, and he put it upon the cross. And the writing was: JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.   [20] This title therefore many of the Jews did read: because the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, in Greek, and in Latin.

[21] Then the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate: Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am the King of the Jews. [22] Pilate answered: What I have written, I have written.

QuoteMt 27:37 "And they put over his head his cause written: THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS."
Iesus
Nazarenus
Rex
Iudaeorum

This is why Crucifixes have "INRI" on them, posted above the Corpus.
And, as their wealth increaseth, so inclose
Infinite riches in a little room

If you read the post you would probably have noticed that I covered that.  The question I am trying to answer is about what antichristian Gnostic heretics are trying to communicate when they use "INRI" in an image of a two headed beast.  Not that you read that part either.  I really try here, and I feel like I am talking to the wall.
