Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, said Thursday he would "most likely" replace Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen if elected.
"She is not a Republican," he said in an interview with CNBC. "When her time is up, I would most likely replace her because of the fact that I think it would be appropriate." Ms. Yellen's term as chairwoman ends in February 2018.

But Mr. Trump said he agreed with Ms. Yellen and the Fed's policy of holding interest rates low.
The Fed declined to comment.
Higher rates would likely lead to a stronger dollar which, Mr. Trump said, would hurt the U.S. trade position with China and other competitors.
"I love the concept of a strong dollar," he said. "But when you look at the havoc that a strong dollar causes, and I can tell you, I have friends in China. All they do is watch the dollar. They love to see it go up."
Higher rates would also make it more expensive for the U.S. to service its debts, Mr. Trump said.
"What do we do with all the money that we owe everybody when rates go up and now all of a sudden we have to borrow at two points more?" he said.
"And we have to be very, very careful, and I am the king of debt. I do love debt. I love debt. I love playing with it. But of course, now you are talking about, you know, you're talking about something that's very, very fragile. And it has to be handled very, very carefully," he said.

That position is at odds with Mr. Trump's earlier stance on low interest rates. In November, he said during a news conference that Ms. Yellen had held rates low for political reasons, to give President Barack Obama a boost as he winds down his term in office.
"Janet Yellen should have raised the rates," he said at the time. "She's not doing it because the Obama administration and the president doesn't want her to."
By law, the president appoints the Fed leader who is subject to Senate confirmation. Once in office, however, Fed chiefs can only be removed "for cause"—that is, if they commit some sort of wrongdoing or if they are found to be unfit for office. Presidents cannot simply remove a chairwoman or chairman because of differences over policy or party affiliation.

Don't think he can actually remove her from office.  Think she has a 7-year term, which the President can recommend for renewal, and which Congress must approve.

Don't think Trump can fire her, think he can only choose to not rehire her when her term is up, perhaps in 3-4 years.

Regardless, if he chooses another jew, what's the big deal?
