Have always felt that many, or most, aspects described in his video have existed, to some degree - what's the buzzword, "organically" - in Yankee Doodle Land.  There's nothing new about social pressure, conformity, "citizenship," "brownie points," "merit badges," "de-merits," patriotism, gossip, etc. 

Chinese have been doing their homework, and trying to whip their people into shape in a systemic way.  Definitely not good, though.
