A Jewish community center in Houston received a bomb threat on Monday, the same day as the Ben Taub hospital shooting hoax. Police confirmed that no only was the whole thing a hoax, but that the bomb threat call came from within the Jewish center itself. WTF?

Of course, it wasn't reported that way in the city's main media outlet, the Houston Chronicle, maybe because the editor Vernon Loeb is a Jew?

Houston interfaith leaders gather to address JCC bomb threat (hoax)

QuoteMonday morning's threat forced authorities to evacuate the Braeswood center until mid-afternoon, when law enforcement finished sweeping the building and determined the call was a hoax.

Since then, police have continued to investigate, but so far have found no connections between the Houston threat and menacing calls elsewhere.

"We have no information leading us to be able to make any linkages between the incidents," Gross said.

Tracing the call could prove challenging, as the caller's voice and number were masked so that the threat appeared to originate from within the Houston JCC.

Interesting bit on Loeb:

QuoteLoeb and his Washington Post co-author Susan Schmidt, along with Baltimore Sun columnist Gary Dorsey, wrote the first stories about the rescue of United States Army Private Jessica Lynch in 2003. The details of the story were later found to be inaccurate and part of a propaganda campaign by The Pentagon.[/qoute]
