GOP Rep Peter King: 99.5 Percent Accurate to Say Obama Admin Surveilled
   Trump Transition
   http://www.breitbart.com/2016-preside...
Wednesday on Fox News Channel's "The O'Reilly Factor," Rep. Peter King
(R-NY), a member of the House Intelligence Committee, admitted after
his committee's review of President Donald Trump's claim the Obama
administration had wiretapped his transition team, he had a "legitimate
case to make," but said he may have overstepped with his Twitter claim.
"[T]he president had a very legitimate case to make," King said. "He
overstepped it by saying President Obama ordered wiretapping. That we
don't know, but what we do know is to me this is shameful."
Host Bill O'Reilly pressed King on the seriousness of Trump being
"surveilled," to which King said it was at least 99.5 percent correct
   he was surveilled.
"I would say, from all I know, you're at least 99-and-a-half percent
accurate, and probably 100 percent," he replied "

Cummings Calls for Investigation of House Intelligence Chair Nunes
by JEFF POOR | 23 Mar 2017 | 75
http://www.breitbart.com/video/2017/03/23/cummings-calls-investigation-house-intelligence-chair-nunes/

"Thursday on CNN's "New Day," House Oversight Committee ranking Democrat
Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) called for an investigation of House
Intelligence Committee Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) on the heels of Nunes'
decision to reveal findings of his committee's investigation of
surveillance of President Donald Trump's transition team to Trump
before revealing them to his own committee.

   Partial transcript as follows:

CUOMO: Have you ever heard of the chair of an independent committee
doing what Nunes just did? Getting some information that wasn't
necessarily new but was certainly helpful to the White House going
around the committee, going to the press, and going to the White House.

CUMMINGS: No. As you know, I was ranking member of the Benghazi
Committee. We would have never allowed that to happen. The Intelligence
Committee is a very special committee. They are privy to information
that most of the members of Congress may never see. And so you expect
      them to be extremely confidential.

What he did was basically to go to the president, who's being
investigated by the FBI and others, and by the Intelligence Committee,
to give them information. Give them information. Basically, what he has
done is he has scuttled and put a cloud over his own investigation. And
he has become the subject basically — he should be — of an
      investigation. It's a real problem.

Pelosi: Trump 'Stooge' Nunes Is 'Deeply Compromised'
by PAM KEY | 23 Mar 2017 | 78
http://www.breitbart.com/video/2017/03/23/pelosi-trump-stooge-nunes-is-deeply-compromised/

"Thursday at her weekly press briefing, House Minority Leader Nancy
Pelosi (D-CA) discussed House Intelligence Committee chairman Rep.
Devin Nunes (R-CA) saying Wednesday the intel community "incidentally
collected" information on President Donald Trump's transition team.
   https://twitter.com/ABCPolitics/status/844596009757917184

Pelosi accused Nunes of being "a stooge for the president of the United
States" and therefore was "deeply compromised."

Pelosi said, "Yesterday in another diversionary tactic, from the
deflector in chief created some kind of scenario where he either duped
or the chairman of the committee was a willing stooge. He committed a
stunt at the White House yesterday raising questions about Chairman
Nunes' impartiality, especially given his history as part of the Trump
transition team. The Republicans are grasping at straws after their
embarrassing performance on Monday, a place where FBI Director Comey
confirmed that President Obama did not wiretap President Trump,
affirmed an FBI investigation to coordination between the Russian
government and individuals of the Trump campaign and whether there was
any coordination or connection between the campaign and Russia's effort
   to undermine America's election."

She continued, "The necessity of an independent investigation is
increasingly being recognized. I think that when Chairman Nunes acted
the way he did, outside the circle of respect for his committee and his
members and his ranking member, outside the circle of just, again,
respect for the responsibility that he has as chairman of the
intelligence committee by being a stooge for the president of the
United States, going to him,  going to the speaker, and going to the
press before he even went to the ranking member of the committee — I
think he's demonstrated very clearly there's no way there can be an
impartial investigation under his leadership on that committee. It
speaks very clearly to the need for an outside independent commission.
As Senator McCain said, no longer does congress have the credibility to
handle this one. Chairman Nunes is deeply compromised and he cannot
possibly lead an honest investigation. As I said, congress must create
a comprehensive, independent, bipartisan commission to expose the full
   truth about the Trump-Russia connection."

POLLAK: Adam Schiff's Tactics on Intel Probe Threaten National Security
by JOEL B. POLLAK | 23 Mar 2017 | 701
http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/03/23/adam-schiff-tactics-russia-probe-threaten-national-security/

"Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), the ranking member of the House Intelligence
Committee, rushed Wednesday to criticize his Republican counterpart,
committee chairman Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA), for informing the media and
President Donald Trump about new evidence that the Trump transition
team had been under surveillance before informing the committee. His
statement showed absolutely no concern for the possibility that the

   https://twitter.com/RepAdamSchiff/status/844649549696286724
intelligence services had abused their vast powers.

(Update: Nunes reportedly apologized to the committee on Thursday
   morning.)

Later on Wednesday, Schiff went further, claiming that he had "more
than circumstantial" evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign
and the Russian government. That claim contradicts statements by former
Obama administration officials that there is no evidence of any such
collusion. If Schiff is making a false claim, it would not be the first
time: at Monday's committee hearing, Schiff claimed Trump associates
watered down the GOP platform on Russia, a lie already debunked.

Schiff and his fellow Democrats are accusing Nunes of abusing his
position to protect the president. The inverse is true: Schiff is
abusing his position in an attempt to bring down the president.

His opening statement on Monday was a litany of false conspiracy
theories that included the discredited Russia "dossier." His antics
earned comparisons to Joe McCarthy, and the task fell to Nunes to point
out, in questioning the FBI director, that there was no evidence Russia
   "hacked" the election.

At times, Schiff has arguably abused his stature on the intelligence
committee for partisan purposes. In 2015, he was a key voice in support
of President Barack Obama's disastrous nuclear deal with Iran, and
suggested — bizarrely — that while it was deeply flawed, it could be
improved later. Other Democrats, who did not have access to the same
intelligence that he could see, studied the Iran deal more carefully
and came to the conclusion that it would be a profound strategic
   mistake.

The purpose of the House Intelligence Committee is not just to allow
politicians access to secret information. It is to make sure that the
intelligence services obey the law and do not exceed the powers that
Congress has — often reluctantly — given them.

As freshman Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) pointed out, in questioning FBI
director James Comey, the agency inexplicably neglected to brief
congressional leaders for more than half a year about investigations
   into Russian election interference.

That was disturbing enough, but the information Nunes described on
Wednesday, which apparently included surveillance of members of the
   Trump family, is even worse.

As Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) pointed out Monday, some of the government's
powers of surveillance are due for reauthorization this fall. Those
powers are arguably necessary to keep Americans safe. By by ignoring
likely abuses of that power, and focusing on politics instead, Rep.
   Schiff is endangering that reauthorization.

It ought to have been easy for Schiff to say something like: "The new
evidence described by Rep. Nunes raises important concerns about the
possible abuse of government surveillance powers. Americans need to be
reassured that the government will use those powers lawfully, and not
for partisan political purposes, and I look forward to seeing the new
evidence. At the same time, I am disappointed Rep. Nunes did not share
that evidence with me first, and I intend to raise the issue with him."

That would have been the right and responsible thing to do. It would
have reassured Americans that both parties intend to police the
behavior of the intelligence community, and prevent invasions of the
rights of private citizens. It would also have emphasized the need for
   bipartisan cooperation.

Instead, Schiff continues to politicize the investigation. There may be
real consequences for Schiff's irresponsible, partisan behavior — not
for President Donald Trump, but for national security itself.

Democratic operatives worked with a convicted terrorist to "investigate" Donald Trump
Posted on March 22, 2017 by Alex Thomas
http://www.dcclothesline.com/2017/03/22/democratic-operatives-worked-with-a-convicted-terrorist-to-investigate-donald-trump/

"(INTELLIHUB) — A former official with the Democratic National Committee
has worked throughout the last few months with a convicted domestic
terrorist to gather and spread opposition research on President Donald
Trump, according to a report by The Daily Caller.

The report claims that sources have revealed that ex-DNC operative
Alexandra Chalupa eventually met with the convicted terrorist, Brett
Kimberlin as well as a South African born Israeli named Yoni Ariel who
himself had been working with other Democratic Party connected
operatives for months. Chalupa also apparently directed Ariel to agents
   within the Justice Department.

As BuzzFeed reported last week, Ariel had flown to Rome in late January
to purchase documents that claimed to show that ExxonMobil CEO Rex
Tillerson paid Trump more than a billion dollars to secure his position
   as secretary of state.

The problem? The documents were completely fake.

"After receiving the documents from a source unnamed in its report,
BuzzFeed determined that the documents were part of an elaborate hoax
involving shady businessmen, Italian diplomats, Democratic operatives,
Kimberlin and Ariel," The Daily Caller report reads.

Noting that Chalupa was not named in the BuzzFeed report, the DC
continued, "Chalupa is not named in the BuzzFeed report, and Ariel did
not discuss the fake papers with her. Instead, Chalupa met with Ariel
to discuss Russia's involvement in cyberattacks during the presidential
campaign, a topic on which she had been heavily focused for months."

"Ariel was put in touch with Chalupa through an official with Democrats
Abroad, a group affiliated with the DNC that organizes expatriates."

"Why the hell are the DNC people dealing with a guy like this?"

Kimberlin, nicknamed the "Speedway Bomber" for setting off a series of
bombs in Speedway, Indiana in 1978, served 17 years in prison before
somehow falling in with numerous left-wing political and media
   operatives.

On top of working with Democratic Party operatives, Kimberlin
apparently also works on various voters rights initiatives, including
   in Ukraine.

"As for Chalupa, she has served in several roles for the DNC while also
working as an pro-Ukraine activist. A former staffer in the Bill
Clinton White House, Chalupa worked as executive director for Democrats
Abroad in the 2000s and as head of the DNC's national ethnic outreach
group during the 2016 campaign," The DC report continued.

So there you have it. Unbelievably, liberals are apparently so
desperate to find dirt on Trump that they are willing to work with
literal convicted domestic terrorists and shady foreign nationals in
their never-ending quest to destroy the president.

Former DNC Official Partnered With Convicted Bomb Maker To Investigate Trump
CHUCK ROSS  Reporter          11:05 AM 03/21/2017
http://dailycaller.com/2017/03/21/former-dnc-official-partnered-with-convicted-bomb-maker-to-investigate-trump/

"A former official with the Democratic National Committee has worked in
recent months with a convicted domestic terrorist-turned-activist known
as the "Speedway Bomber" to gather information on Donald Trump, The
   Daily Caller has learned.

That work culminated in a Washington, D.C. meeting in December between
the ex-DNC operative, Alexandra Chalupa, the convicted bomber, Brett
Kimberlin, and a South Africa-born Israeli man named Yoni Ariel.

Ariel, whose real name is Jonathan Schwartz, traveled to Washington,
D.C. to brief Chalupa and Kimberlin on his knowledge of Russia's
   activities during the campaign.

Chalupa, an activist of Ukrainian heritage who is strongly opposed to
Trump, also directed Ariel to the Justice Department, sources told
   TheDC.

Sources also informed TheDC that little came of the meetings.

Ariel's connection to Kimberlin was first reported by BuzzFeed News
last week, though Chalupa's involvement with the bomber-activist is a
   new revelation.

According to BuzzFeed, Ariel flew to Rome on the third week of January
to purchase a set of documents purporting to show that ExxonMobil CEO
Rex Tillerson paid Trump's company more than $1.5 billion in June,
seemingly to secure the position of secretary of state in a Trump
   administration.

Ariel, 60, paid $9,000 for the documents, which included copies of wire
transfers and bank documents laying out a transactions involving
ExxonMobil and a Chinese mining company.

After receiving the documents from a source unnamed in its report,
BuzzFeed determined that the documents were part of an elaborate hoax
involving shady businessmen, Italian diplomats, Democratic operatives,
   Kimberlin and Ariel.

Brett Kimberlin mugshot (Youtube screen grab)

Ariel, believing that the papers were legitimate, informed Kimberlin
about the documents, and the convict agreed to pay for the Israeli's
three flights to Rome to procure them. Kimberlin also paid the $9,000
   asking price.

Ariel gave the documents to Kimberlin, and, according to BuzzFeed, they
were pitched to numerous outlets, including Bloomberg, The Washington
Post and The New York Times, by an unidentified associate of
   Kimberlin's.

Chalupa is not named in the BuzzFeed report, and Ariel did not discuss
the fake papers with her. Instead, Chalupa met with Ariel to discuss
Russia's involvement in cyberattacks during the presidential campaign,
a topic on which she had been heavily focused for months.

Ariel was put in touch with Chalupa through an official with Democrats
Abroad, a group affiliated with the DNC that organizes expatriates.

"I can neither confirm nor deny that I met with whom I met," Ariel told
TheDC in a phone interview from Israel, though two sources
independently confirmed that a meeting occurred.

The Chalupa-Kimberlin connection is surprising given both her prominent
position with the DNC and his status as a convicted felon. Indeed,
Ariel was surprised that someone formerly with the DNC would work with
   him.

"I had no idea of Brett's background until the BuzzFeed article, and
when I read it I was sort of surprised," said Ariel.

"My initial though, why the hell are the DNC people dealing with a guy
   like this?"

Kimberlin earned the nickname "Speedway Bomber" by setting a string of
bombs in Speedway, Indiana in 1978. Though nobody died from the blasts,
one Vietnam veteran had his leg amputated due to injuries suffered
during one bombing. Carl DeLong, the victim, committed suicide in 1983.

Kimberlin, who is in his early 60s, served 17 years in prison for the
bombing spree. He gained more notoriety in prison after he concocted a
story about having once sold marijuana to then-Vice President Dan
Quayle. The story was propagated by Cody Shearer, a political operative
who worked for the Clintons in the 1990s. After being released from
prison, Kimberlin has battled conservative activists who have drawn
attention to his newfound career as a left-wing operative.

Kimberlin now works on various voters' rights initiatives, including in
   Ukraine.

As for Chalupa, she has served in several roles for the DNC while also
working as an pro-Ukraine activist. A former staffer in the Bill
Clinton White House, Chalupa worked as executive director for Democrats
Abroad in the 2000s and as head of the DNC's national ethnic outreach
   group during the 2016 campaign.

   Alexandra Chalupa (Youtube screen grab)

In her spare time, Chalupa organized social media campaigns against
Trump. One of those efforts encouraged activists to share the Twitter
   hashtag, #TreasonousTrump.

Chalupa, who founded the U.S. United With Ukraine Coalition in 2014,
also led the DNC's opposition research into any Trump ties to Russia,
according to an essay she recently published at Medium.

Politico reported in January that Chalupa worked with the Ukrainian
government to compile and disseminate research on links between Trump,
his campaign advisers, and the Russian government.

To help spread that information, Chalupa relied on "a network of
sources in Kiev and Washington, including investigative journalists,
government officials and private intelligence operatives," Politico
   reported.

One of the investigative journalists Chalupa worked with was Yahoo!
   News' Michael Isikoff.

In a May 3, 2016 email released by WikiLeaks, Chalupa informed Luis
Miranda, the DNC's communications director at the time, that she had
"been working with" Isikoff on stories involving Trump campaign
chairman Paul Manafort's work in Ukraine. She also said she had invited
Isikoff to a conference with dozens of Ukrainian journalists to discuss
Manafort, a former consultant to Viktor Yanukovych, a former Ukrainian
   president allied with Vladimir Putin.

Days before Chalupa's email, Isikoff published an in-depth report on an
ill-fated business partnership between Manafort and a Russian oligarch
allied with Putin named Oleg Deripaska.

In her email, Chalupa hinted to Miranda of "a big Trump component...that
will hit in next few weeks." She also claimed that she was being
targeted in state-sponsored computer hacking attempts because of her
   research on Manafort.

According to Politico, Chalupa was paid $412,000 for consulting work
from 2004 through June 2016. The last payment was made on June 20 for
$25,000, records filed with the Federal Election Commission show.

Ariel first got in touch with Chalupa and Kimberlin after Trump won the
election, sometime in mid-November. The Israeli noted that he had
written articles asserting that Trump colluded with the Russian
   government to influence the election.

At the time of his first contact with Chalupa and Kimberlin, Ariel had
not seen the documents that would later be debunked by BuzzFeed.

The documents soon ended up in the inboxes of several news outlets, but
reporters quickly determined that they were rife with errors. Names
were misspelled; dates didn't make sense; the gist of the underlying
claim didn't pass the smell test.

Ariel, who says he once worked with the the anti-apartheid African
National Congress, disputed some of the BuzzFeed report. He said that
the article portrayed him as the party most responsible for pushing the
documents. But he told TheDC that he always had at least some doubt
about the veracity of the papers. He also says that he did not send
   them to news outlets.
