This, of course, proves he's not racist...but...let's think a bit: maybe it does.

'If John Cunningham is not safe, no one is safe'

Quote...Under the Trump administration, Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents have been very active. And ordinary, hard-working, tax-paying immigrants are being targeted the same as hardcore criminals.

In the midst of all this round-'em-up-and-throw-'em-out talk, a question has to be asked: What is gained by arresting, detaining, and deporting someone like John Cunningham?

[...]

"If they'll go after John Cunningham, they'll go after anybody," said Ronnie Millar, the executive director of the Irish International Immigrant Center in Boston. "John is so well-known and so well-liked. If John Cunningham is not safe, no one is safe."

That is a new reality that is hitting not just the Irish, but other immigrant communities from East Boston to Lawrence, from Worcester to Springfield, and everywhere in between. Being a good person means nothing. Round 'em up.

Kieran O'Sullivan, an immigration counselor at the Irish Pastoral Center, said Cunningham was among several Irish people detained this month. Like Millar's organization, his has been inundated with frantic, worried calls, especially as word of Cunningham's arrest spread. He spoke with a couple that is making contingency plans for what to do with their children if they're arrested.

This guy was in the country for 18 years on a 90 day visa? He was apparently doing well for himself. Why didn't he ever go see an immigration lawyer and apply for citizenship? He could have dual Irish/US citizenship.

It's kind of stupid to ask why the government is enforcing its immigration laws. Laws are supposed to be enforced, and it's not like he didn't have plenty of time to acquire legal status.

I can see that the media is making a big deal over Cunningham because they want to make it seem like there are a crap-ton of Europeans living illegally in the US. This is so that we will be tricked into not deporting the crap-ton of non-Europeans who are living illegally in the US. I think that there are probably a lot more Canadians than Irish living illegally in the US, but those people north of the US would probably make us think about the people on our southern border: Mexicans living illegally in the US.

The Miami Herald showed pictures from a Rally in Boston called from a group called "Here to Stay". All the people in the picture were non-Europeans, but they were gathered around a statue at an Irish Potato famine memorial.  But here's the thing: people from Mexico are not dying of starvation from a potato blight.  Even this idiot John Cunningham who lived here for 18 years without contacting an immigration lawyer, was not starving for potatoes.  People come here to get more money, and they often break the law to do this.

We're supposed to be retarded  and say: immigration laws hurt us all. We should just have mass immigration and diversify. These people are here to stay.

John Cunningham had 18 years to figure out the immigration laws. He failed. I can only hope he's a protestant.
