This is such a ridiculous set up, perfectly timed by the way, that it's not even funny. The media is casting this woman as the most evil person in the world and then all the sudden she pops up and says that she is about introduces an insignificant piece of paper to vote on. It probably won't even happen, anyways but apparently the media are going to let her just get away with it?

Again, if this were a real Israel hater like Cynthia McKinney, they would already be trying to run her out of office.

They are sitting around voting on things that aren't even legislation.

Omar to Introduce Resolution Declaring Support for Anti-Israel BDS Movement

QuoteRepresentative Ilhan Omar (D., Minn.) will introduce a resolution this week declaring support for the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, which seeks to elevate the Palestinian negotiating position vis-a-vis Israel through an international pressure campaign.

"We are introducing a resolution . . . to really speak about the American values that support and believe in our ability to exercise our first amendment rights in regard to boycotting," Omar told Al-Monitor. "And it is an opportunity for us to explain why it is we support a nonviolent movement, which is the BDS movement."

The announcement comes on the same day that the House Foreign Affairs Committee, on which Omar sits, plans to vote on another non-binding resolution explicitly condemning the BDS movement as an attempt to "undermine the two state solution" by demanding "concessions of one party alone and encourag[ing] Palestinians to reject negotiations in favor of international pressure."

QuoteOmar told CBS News's Gayle King this week that she doesn't regret the words she used to cast support for Israel as primarily the product of the Israel lobby's financial influence.

"So you don't regret your words either?" King asked.

"I do not. But I have gotten the — I am grateful for the opportunity to really learn how my words make people feel and have taken every single opportunity I've gotten to make sure that people understood that I apologize for it," Omar responded.

Ilhan Omar brands Trump 'FASCIST' after 'send her back' chants at his rally

Rep. Ilhan Omar has accused the US president of being "racist" and of "spewing fascist ideology" after Donald Trump's supporters were heard chanting "send her back" during a rally as he was lambasting the Democratic congresswoman.

"We have said this president is racist, we have condemned his racist remarks. I believe he is fascist," Omar told reporters on Thursday, adding that she believes the verbal attacks are targeting not only her, but the very right to have a dissenting opinion.

"I want to remind people that this is what this president and his supporters have [turned] our country, that is supposed to be a country where we allow democratic debate and dissent to take place," Omar said.

The Somalia-born congresswoman went further and accused Trump of "spewing his fascist ideology on stage" – referring to the scandalous rally in North Carolina on Wednesday, in which a crowd of the president's supporters started chanting "send her back" during his speech. Trump, who did not try to stop the chants, was at the time addressing what he called Omar's "vicious anti-Semitic screeds." He was also accusing her of supporting Al-Qaeda and smearing the US military involved in the Somalian war.

The incident triggered a wave of criticism, and Trump later attempted to downplay it, saying he actually "disagreed" with the chants.

"I felt a little bit badly about it," Trump told reporters on Thursday. "I would say that I was not happy with it. I disagreed with it. But again I didn't say that. They did. And I disagreed with it."

'I disagreed with it': Trump distances himself from 'SEND HER BACK!' chants
https://www.rt.com/usa/464505-trump-omar-send-her-back/?utm_source=browser&utm_medium=aplication_chrome&utm_campaign=chrome

US President Donald Trump has sought to distance himself from supporters who erupted into a chant of "send her back" about Somali-American Congresswoman Ilhan Omar at a Wednesday rally, saying he "disagreed" with their sentiments.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Trump addressed the ferocious backlash that followed the scene at the rally in North Carolina, saying he "felt a little bit badly about it," but adding that he was not the one who started it.

"I would say that I was not happy with it. I disagreed with it. But again, I didn't say that. They did." he said.

Asked why he did not try to stop the chanters, Trump said he thought he had. "I think I did – I started speaking very quickly." Video from the event, however, shows that Trump actually stopped speaking and allowed the chanting to get more intense, before beginning to address the crowd again.

Trump advised reporters to go to North Carolina and ask his supporters why they had said what they did – but the chant was strikingly in line with comments Trump himself made last week, tweeting that Omar and her 'squad' of four freshman Democratic colleagues should "go back" to fix the "crime infested places from which they came."

Even during the North Carolina speech, Trump had suggested multiple times that if the congresswomen were unhappy with aspects of the USA, they could simply leave. The so-called 'squad' have been highly critical of Trump's border control and immigration policies, among other things, and have multiple times accused him of racism.

The anti-Omar chant was reminiscent of the cries of "Lock her up" which targeted Trump's opponent Hillary Clinton during the 2016 campaign.

Approached by reporters on Capitol Hill on Thursday, Omar in turn branded Trump a "fascist" and said the US was supposed to be a country where people "allow Democratic debate and dissent" to take place. "This is not about me, this is about us fighting for what this country truly should be," she said.

Trump's comments have provoked a wave of fury among Democrats and even among a few Republicans, who have condemned him for the "racist" language.

Trump has denied that his language is racist, saying that he doesn't have a "racist bone" in his body.
