According to the Anti-Defamation League, Joe Banister, Tommy Cryer, Pat Shannan, Dave Von Kleist, Jack McLamb, Greg Dixon, Ted Gunderson, and Michael Badnarik are "extremist speakers" who will appear at the "Three Pillars of Tyranny" conference in Pensacola, Florida, later this month. The ADL has included the conference on its "Schedule of Upcoming Extremist Events: 2009″ along with events held by racist skinheads and neo-Nazis.
Joe Banister is a former IRS agent who has challenged the legality of income taxes. Tommy Cryer is an attorney who beat an IRS prosecution. Pat Shannan is an editor for the American Free Press. Dave Von Kleist is a GCN Radio talk show host. Jack McLamb is an award-winning former policeman, Vietnam vet, and GCN radio talk show host. Greg Dixon is a Baptist pastor who refused to pay the IRS. Ted Gunderson is a former FBI agent and Oklahoma City bombing researcher. Michael Badnarik is former radio talk show host and Libertarian Party nominee for President in 2004.

According to the ADL, opposing income taxes and distrust of the government rank are on par with racism and antisemitism. On an ADL page describing the tax protest movement, the organization claims the movement has "some white supremacist elements" and is along "with the better-known militia and sovereign citizen movements... a key component of the strain of extreme right-wing anti-government activism often referred to as the 'patriot' movement."
In 2003, the ADL released a report claiming 9/11 truth activism is a form of antisemitic racism.
The ADL's campaign to portray tax and 9/11 activists as racists dovetailed with a House Homeland Security Subcommittee hearing on "Terrorism and the Internet" held in November, 2007. The hearing, chaired by Democratic Rep. Jane Harman, a sponsor of the "Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act" passed by the House, conflated 9/11 activists with Muslim jihadists. So-called "experts" called to testify included the RAND Corporation and the Simon Wiesenthal Center.

That's one surefire way to (further) discredit themselves in the eyes of the general public. I am sure they will eventually come to regret this move.
"The real menace of our Republic is the invisible government which like a giant octopus sprawls its slimy legs over our cities, states and nation. At the head is a small group of banking houses generally referred to as \'international bankers.\' This little coterie... run our government for their own selfish ends. It operates under cover of a self-created screen, seizes our executive officers, legislative bodies, schools, courts, newspapers and every agency created for the public protection."
John F. Hylan (1868-1936) - Former Mayor of New York City
