Matthew 22:  36-40
Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him.  Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.  This is the first and great commandment.  And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.  On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Just as so many things have been re-defined as part of the conditioning of the useless eaters, I have found the whole idea of "open-mindedness" to have been tweaked, reshaped, twisted, and coaxed into something far different from what the words seem to say. Instead of meaning open to different influences, ideas, accepting of others, and perhaps also implying a certain kind of optimism rooted in knowledge that nothing is set in stone, it has instead come to mean a tendency towards certain behaviours associated with what was not long ago considered degenerate or destructive.

  • You don't think 11 year-olds should have sex? You're not open-minded!
  • You don't like the idea of those 11 year-olds having anal sex? Geez, you're really close-minded.
  • You don't like eating feces?
  • You're not for "gay" marriage? Ooh, now you're not just close-minded, you're a HATER, never mind that the state should never have been involved in issuing marriage licenses and that the practice originated in racist policies.

Where I live, in a non-Western country, "open-minded" is basically code for "I fuck anybody."

I haven't watched the video. Just wanted to get these thoughts down first.
Take heed to yourself lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither you go, lest it become a snare in the midst of you.

Kolnidre - the video basically discusses critical thinking and logic as opposed to spirituality and belief - and in fact encourages openness to different influences, ideas, and acceptance of others without being naive -  a person who thinks in scientific terms requires evidence as proof however, just because they are not religious or spiritual and think in scientific terms does not mean they have no moral code.

I watched it and thought it was nicely done, but full of pretty obvious stuff. That said, the way it's presented is useful when confronting people like those who claim that the debate is over regarding "global warming."

Not particularly enthusiastic over this video. It's pure atheist propaganda.  No different than some religious propaganda. Science is used as a political tool and any one who doesn't realize that should step back and reassess it. I've said it on other forums and I'll say it again on here. While most atheists push this notion of strict logical thinking they themselves do not actually engage in it. The wide majority of the population is FOLLOWERS. It doesn't matter if they are religious or atheist. They follow others, they listen to others, and they do not engage in careful assessment of what others tell them, especially when the others have stature (Priest, PhD, what the difference??). One of my problems with the video stems from the portrayal of atheists as logical thinkers while religious folks are not. There is also the use of the loaded term paranormal and it is associated with religious folks. Logic is not something which is mutually exclusive to one group regardless if one group would like to THINK so. Logic is represented across the spectrum of humans but most strongly in those who are not FOLLOWERS. Where are the videos promoting independent thinking which is not bound by some artificial, human created philosophical divide?

agreed - we cannot categorize people so strictly -

1) an extremely left minded, scientific, logical thinker can still be spiritual however, requires more evidence than
2) an extremely right minded, creative, thinker who is more of an emotional, intuitive type and may tend to be naive at times however,

the ability to utilize both types of thinking depending on the situation and the information greatly enhances the persons ability to decipher information at a higher level.

DBS is a case in point - for the most part, he uses logic and solid proof and evidence to provide the information to his listeners and as new information arises to substantiate or dismiss previous information, he updates it accordingly however, he has a strong intuitive sense about people which is key in identifying the shills and deceivers in this fight.

We all should be constantly reassessing the role that others play as we come across new information which appears to be legit. As one comes across information related to the Mossad role in 9/11 then one should be questioning why certain mouthpieces do not discuss this or go off on tangents when it is presented to them. The behavior of the mouthpieces indicates underlying motives. I would also call into question the lack of addressing the kabbalistic secret societies run by kabbalistic "jews" (or those who call themselves jews but aren't) and gentiles. I'd like to see more focus on this aspect of things as it appears to be the core problem. These kabbalists created the Zionists movements and use the non-kabbalist jews as their stupid scapegoats. I don't hear Jones blathering about these groups either. He just rants about ambiguous death cults.

There are plenty of people who engage in emotional thinking. I don't think that it's something that can be easily changed after they are past a certain age in youth. So with that in mind it would be desirable to utilize factual, emotional appeals to this crowd. They're not complete morons. And no one individual relies solely upon logic. The left/right brain paradigm is more about seeing little details versus big picture. The emotional circuitry is actually in BOTH the left and right hemispheres (the Limbic system). Those who rely more upon emotional processes are using this system more than their frontal lobes which again handle rule governed behavior (big picture vs. specific details).
