The lowdown:

The intended purpose is to blend the GST and the PST into one tax.  This will cut down the paperwork burden for Ontario businesses and, in theory, lessen staff by merging both departments.  There is one problem though, rather than just blending the products and services that now charge both taxes, the provincial government has decided that it will apply this new tax to almost ALL goods and services that you do not pay PST on now.

You are about to become the victim of the largest tax hike in our history.  How does this affect you?

As of July 1, 2010 here are a few items that will be charged this additional 8% and affects every single Ontarian:

*gasoline
*home heating fuel
*water
*hydro
*used cars
*government and city services
*any service you now use for your home or business i.e. repairs, professional services of any kind,, construction materials etc.

They are using $1,000 bribe however, this will never compensate for the long-term affects of this tax especially to Ontarians that will be hit especially hard:  low income ones.  This new tax is an 8% increase on necessities in life and will affect almost everything we purchase EXCEPT for children's clothing, prescriptions, diapers and feminine hygiene products.

If this new tax comes into effect, please do not complain about it if you have not objected to it.

Matthew 22:  36-40
Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him.  Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.  This is the first and great commandment.  And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.  On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
