Former Congressman James Traficant was released wednesday from a Federal Prison in Minnesota. He was expelled from congress and convicted on Federal Corruption charges of bribery, racketeering, and tax evasion. He served 7 years in prison, longer than any other convicted politician in recent history. The only member of congress to vote against his ousting was Gary Condit, who was also in a political scandal. The mainstream media villified him as a crook.

During his career in congress he earned an independent reputation taking  on a lot of powerful enemies such as the Clinton Administration, The Israel Lobby, The IRS, Wall Street, and The Federal Reserve, and was a staunch opponant agaisnt NAFTA and illegal immigration. We went against his own party in many cases such as opposing the Clinton administration, opposing democratic congresswonen Loretta Sanchez's election under the pretense she was elected by illegal aliens voters, and calling Janet Reno a traitor for a secretive deal with China. He sponsored legislation to protect citizens from abuse by the IRS. He also took up the unpopular cause of John Demanjuk, a Ukrainian American auto worker accused of being a Nazi war criminal, who Traficant believed was not given a fair trial in Israel.

Many believe that Traficant was railroaded for being a threat to the powers that be. One such figure is the Populist anti-zionist/globalist author, journalist, and talk show host Michael Collins Piper. In his book Target: Traficant, Michael Collins Piper describes about how Traficant was railroaded by the Justice Department and the FBI. Piper says that "Jim Traficant refused to accept a Presidential Pardon(or a reduction in his Federal Prison term) for this very simple reason: he will not agree to and appologize for crimes he did not commit." He also refused to resign from Congress. Piper also reports on how Michael Chertoff, a dual Israeli citizen, and co-author of the Patriot Act, was the main man behind Traficant's setup. Piper was the only journalist to be granted interview by Traficant during his incarceration and according to Traficant one of the few who reported on his story accurately.
