Please don't take this personally but you must know that Reformed and Conservative "Judaism" are fraudulent 19th century movements which were formed by assimilated German Jews who were ashamed of their Jewish heritage and wanted to assimilate and gradually disappear into the general German culture.

Unlike the various Christian sects which have a theological basis in that they claim an oral tradition or revelation from G-d to the founder; Reformed Judaism has no theological basis (It was formed simply to make it more convenient for lazy and self hating Jews to assimilate and disappear).

It is precisely for this reason that Orthodox Jewry is thriving and growing today (doubling in numbers every generation) while the insincere Conservative and Reformed movements are dying out as the Reformed Conservative and Secular Jews are intermarrying and having Christian children or Jewish children with no knowledge of their identity.

Only Torah True Judaism based upon the Talmud has been recognized as Judaism for thousands of years anything else can call itself whatever it wants but is basically a different religion (NOT JUDAISM). Which is why such deviant sects have never survived throughout Jewish History.

So please if you want to convert do it the right way (Torah True Orthodox Judaism) if you think that you can handle it. If you don't think you can handle it then at least be honest with yourself and don't undergo a conversion from a failing bogus sect which has no future and doesn't even claim it started with any divine revelation or tradition (is simply based on laziness and blending in with the Gentile culture). Gentilzed Judaism will not survive.

When they speak of the Torah, they are not referring to the Tanakh (what is known as the Old Testament to Christians), but to that PLUS the Mishna, Baraita, Gemara, Halakha and Aggadah - The Talmud.  They are more properly referred to as Talmud-True.

when a Jew talks about the Torah he is more than likely actually talking about the Talmud which they also call the torah, only it's the Torah Sheba'al Peh.

The Talmud, as quoted by Dr. Funk, says, "God foresaw that one day a time would come when the Heathen would possess themselves of the Torah and would say to Israel, 'We, too, are sons of God'. Then will the Lord say: 'Only he who knows my secrets is my son'. And what are the secrets of God? The oral teachings" .
