The voters of Ireland have given the Lisbon Treaty a clear thumbs down. The no vote puts pay to the plans of those who have been working hard to establish a fascist, totalitarian, neo-liberal jewnited states of Europe.  The treaty, which resembled a dogs dinner more than it did a legal document of some importance, contained significant caveats in the areas of human rights, freedom of speech and the right to private property amongst the myriad of dubious provisions it contained.
"The real menace of our Republic is the invisible government which like a giant octopus sprawls its slimy legs over our cities, states and nation. At the head is a small group of banking houses generally referred to as \'international bankers.\' This little coterie... run our government for their own selfish ends. It operates under cover of a self-created screen, seizes our executive officers, legislative bodies, schools, courts, newspapers and every agency created for the public protection."

That's a 6.8% difference, which is significant enough. I'm surprised that it is isn't higher on the No side though, as almost everyone I have spoken to was voting no. The yes result in Laois-Offaly is a bit suspect too given the general nature of the rural vote.  The only difference is that it is Coh......er... Cowen's constituency.

I do however feel Ireland will be bashed for this on the news, but fuck it!

Note to the French President: Our constitution still trumps your Ermächtigungsgesetz  (enabling act), Monsieur Sarkozy, so "bypass" away.

Forgive me if this has already been picked up, but "Brian Cowen"...

Apart from being the lead character in "The life of Brian", all these misspellings are the same: 'Coren', 'Cowen', 'Coen', even our dear Dutch friend's 'Calvin' was from a French bastardisation of Cauvin = COHEN!

Wake up people!

YES, I AM SHOUTING, "FUCKING WELL DONE IRELAND". "GOD BLESS YOU ALL FOR YOUR NO-VOTE"

The propaganda war has already started...

BBC radio 4 Friday. Woman Labour MP (I forget the name)......we must implement the euro barometer procedure to find out what the Irish people disagree with.....and provide remedy...

and then

"I was with two Irish ladies in the airpot, and the reason they voted no was because they said they didnt understand.

What a load of cock.

Some voted no because the treaty was as clear as mud, and they did the right thing, as nobody in their right mind would sign up to a contract they did not understand. Others voted because they understood all too well what this treaty was all about. That latter group is by no means in the minority.

QuoteLike all persons that have a properly functioning set of brains, a member of The Corrs believes 9/11 was a inside job and consider the EU's Lisbon treaty as nothing more then the begin of a world wide dictator ship.
Just like any sane person will conclude after looking into it!
I guess he doesnt like a world where the "Leaders" are UN-ELECTED(per definition!!) AND SECRET!!! (Study the Lisbon treaty, its extremely shocking and deceptive!!)

(Look at the video about the "Lisbon Treaty" in the "video reactions" part..
IT IS MUCH WORSE THEN YOU THINK!!!

Saddens me that Ireland is a democracy where no individual rights can possibly exist, but thankfully this time they won with a popular vote.  Unfortunately, we can see the EU is just going to pass right by the will of the majority as Sarkozy has said publicly.  http://www.blacklistednews.com/view.asp?ID=6960
