I was going through Airport Security when I was accosted about carrying liquids. I said I have toothpaste, they say that's a liquid, I say it's paste not a liquid. The Security Guard tried to look inside my bag and she grabbed my vitamins, I grabbed them back and removed her hands from inside my bag, and told her I told you I had toothpaste their is no need to look in my bag. this goes on for 2 minutes, then they call the big boss over who has to explain to me that paste is actually a liquid.  I finally say whatever, walk through the metal detector and bend over and spread my butt cheeks, which made everyone laugh, but I wasn't laughing. Anyway I proceeded on my way unhindered through all the other paper checks and eventually ended up in the small room at the very back of the terminal where they hide the dirty evil smokers. A little Japanese man comes up to me and asks how I got fire paste the security checkpoint. I told him for now in Asia you can bring a lighter, but if you are flying to JewSA you can bring fire. But I informed him it was ok to bring a lighter but not toothpaste.

Anyway I arrive back and I know that the immigration guys are going to be hanging out at the gate with their video Cameras, so I pull my hat down and walk through without looking up. I continue through and then I move to the Bird Flu Scanning area, I have my mp3 playing and hat on, the scanner tries to get me to take my hat off, but I continue on my way without paying them any attention. All hell breaks loose and little Chinese people start panicking and they get their remote temperature check guns chasing after me, I just keep walking but I suspect one of the girls shot me with their little gun.

I am just so sick about all this invasion into my privacy.

Are you staying in Hong Kong or just visiting the area?

You can probably get away with acting oblivious at times, but what about the retinal scanning and thumb prints in places like Japan? Refuse them and they send you out on the next plane, at your expense.
Take heed to yourself lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither you go, lest it become a snare in the midst of you.

I live here in HK. we have the thumb scan but it is a choice to wait in a long line or use the auto gate. no eye scan yet, although outside the airport there is a giant sign for facial rec  software for your PC, so I suspect it is only a matter of time. But I want to fight their statutes and become a thorn in their side and educate others. Civil disobedience is required of all good people
