Quote Alexander Neibaur

On September 16, 1833, she married Alexander Neibaur, a French and Polish Jew. He also belonged to a very wealthy family and had been educated to become a Rabbi in the Jewish faith. To this union 14 children were born.

When Alexander Neibaur heard the LDS gospel preached by Elders Heber C. Kimball, Willard Richard, Orson Hyde, and Joseph Fielding, he was one of the first to receive it, and although he was a trained Rabbi, he was baptized at once into the church. But Ellen Neibaur could not see that it was right until later, and then she had a vision, and the truth of the LDS Gospel was revealed to her so that she joined the church in 1837. In her vision she saw the sky covered with small white clouds. These clouds formed round in the shape of a man's face: All the clouds repeating the face of just one man. After gazing in wonder at them for some time, the clouds all dropped down to earth; Ellen awoke. The face she had see was that of Willard Richards, one of a second company of Elders to visit England. Ellen Neibaur knew that he had come to bring the Gospel message to her.

In 1841, the first organized company of Saints left England on the ship Sheffield, and they were among the Saints on the ship. At that time they had three children, whom they brought with them. They had lost one baby and buried it in England.

They were 7 weeks crossing the water, and Ellen was never up on deck once during the whole voyage. She was sick all the way over. They landed at New Orleans, March 30, 1841. From there they went directly to Nauvoo. There Alexander Neibaur met the Prophet Joseph Smith and he taught the Prophet Joseph the Hebrew and the German language.

They were in Nauvoo at the time of the great persecution of the Saints and in 1846, when the mob made the raid on the Saints, Ellen Neibaur, with a 10 day old baby, and 6 other children, was driven from her home. She was sick with chills and fever when she was driven out. With the small baby in her arms, they walked to Winter Quarters. She was ill with fever when they reached the camp and there, one of the good sisters put her to bed and cared for her and the baby until she was well.

By Mrs. Mazie Bohi

(Source: Treasures of Pioneer History, vol 4, pp 76-8)

Alexander Neibaur, the first dentist in Utah, was born January 8, 1808, in Germany, the son of a
Hebrew physician and surgeon. Alexander was to have entered the Jewish ministry, but instead
studied dentistry in the University of Berlin, beginning practice in Preston, England. While there he
married Ellen Breakel. He was the first Jew to be converted to the Mormon faith and was baptized
April 9, 1838.
Young Dr. Neibaur emigrated to Nauvoo, Illinois in 1841 where he became an active member of the
Church, and prominent in Free-masonry, while setting himself up in the practice of dentistry. He
advertised as follows in the (Mormon) Times and Seasons. "Nauvoo, August 2, 1841: ALEXANDER
NEIBAUR-SURGEON DENTIST, from Berlin, in Prussia, late of Liverpool and Preston, England. Most
respectfully announces to the ladies and gentlemen and the citizens of Nauvoo, as also of Hancock
county, in general, that he has permanently established himself in the city of Nauvoo, as a dentist,
where he may be consulted daily, in all branches connected with his profession. Teeth cleaned,
plugged, filled and scurva effectually cured, children's teeth regulated, natural or artifical teeth from a
single tooth to a whole set inserted on the most approved principles.
Mr. Neibaur having an extensive practice both on the continent of Europe, as also in England, for the
last 15 years, he hopes to give general satisfaction to all those who honor him with their patronage.
"Mr. B. Young having known Mr. N. (in England) has kindly consented to offer me his house to meet
those ladies and gentlemen who wish to consult me. Hours of attendance from 10 o'clock in the
morning to 6 at evening.
"My residence is opposite Mr. Tidwell, the cooper, near the water. Ladies and gentlemen attended at
their own residence if requested. Charges strictly moderate."
Alexander Neibaur spoke and wrote fluently in Hebrew, French, and German languages, read Latin
and Greek, and spoke some Spanish. He came to Utah September 20, 1848 and erected his own
house on which he hung his professional shingle as Utah's First Dentist.
The first number of the Deseret News, published in Salt Lake City, June 16, 1850 carried the following:
"A. Neibaur, Surgeon Dentist, 3rd street east, 2nd south of the Council House, will attend to all
branches of his profession. The scurvy effectually cured."
Alexander Neibaur's daughter, Mrs. Sarah Ellen Neibaur O'Driscoll, 93, Kamas, Utah, recently said: "In
addition to countless extractions my father had about one hundred and fifty patients in Utah,
including Brigham Young and family and the families of other Church leaders; he also filled the teeth
of Elisa, daughter of Bishop Hunter, and those of the daughter of Governor Frank Fuller.
"He usually used a dental turnkey, an implement with a hinged claw on a gimlet-shaped handle, for
extracting teeth by twisting; but he later obtained forceps. These instruments were subsequently
turned over to Dr. Washington F. Anderson. Cavities in decaying teeth were cleaned with a suitable
pick and filled with alum and borax and then sealed with beeswax; the only anesthetic was laudanum.
He was seldom paid in money; but accepted beet molasses, corn meal and pigweed greens. Much of
his work was donated to widows and to others who could not pay."
Dr. Alexander Neibaur passed away December 15, 1883 after a long and distinguished career.

After the Revolution of 1905, the Czar had prudently prepared for further outbreaks by transferring some $400 million in cash to the New York banks, Chase, National City, Guaranty Trust, J.P.Morgan Co., and Hanover Trust. In 1914, these same banks bought the controlling number of shares in the newly organized Federal Reserve Bank of New York, paying for the stock with the Czar\'s sequestered funds. In November 1917,  Red Guards drove a truck to the Imperial Bank and removed the Romanoff gold and jewels. The gold was later shipped directly to Kuhn, Loeb Co. in New York.-- Curse of Canaan

Very interesting, thanks bro. It's amazing the role the Jews have played in shaping Christian sects and cults.

Hey Timothy,
You might take a listen to this show. Pretty interesting information. It states that Joseph Smith was a "tripper" on Datura and studied the Kabbalah. He's confirmed as Zionist and Masonic Leader. Almost all of the Mormon Founders were Free Masons.

QuoteDatura is a woody-stalked, leafy herb growing up to 2 meters. It produces spiney seed pods and large white or purple trumpet-shaped flowers that face upward. Most parts of the plant contain atropine, scopolamine, and hyoscyamine. It has a long history of use both in S. America and Europe and is known for causing delirious states and poisonings in uninformed users.

This show is titled "The Mormons: Joseph Smith's Psychedelic Voyage" and is being released on Monday, May 31, 2010. My interview with Dr. Robert Beckstead and James Warren Mooney was recorded on May 31, 2010.

James Warren Mooney personally represents all of Oklevueha Native American Church independent branches; including Oklevueha Native American Church of; Navajo, Paiute, Cherokee, Chippewa, Lakota Sioux, Narragansett Nations (led by federally recognized card caring American Native persons) as well as 45 Utah Oklevueha Native American Church independent branches. His list of acolades is more than 10 pages long, so for today I'm going to keep it brief.

Robert T. Beckstead, MD has practiced as a board certified emergency physician for 32 years with training in hypnosis from the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and Jungian dream analysis from Pacifica Graduate Institute. His interest in the possibility that Joseph Smith used psychedelic plants, cactus, and mushrooms to facilitate visionary experience and spiritual ecstasies arises from readings in Mormon history and his emergency medicine practice. This includes training and experience in diagnosing the class of hallucinogen intoxication from its manifesting symptoms (toxidrome) and the administration of Ketamine as a powerful dissociative anesthetic for painful procedures in the emergency department. Dr. Beckstead is Affiliate Faculty, Idaho State University Portnuef Medical Center, Department of Emergency Medicine, Pocatello Idaho.

Yeah, I read about Smith's Freemasonry in Bloodlines of the Illuminati. The B'nai Brith and JP Morgan were direct financiers of the Jehovah's Witnesses and I believe also the Latter Day Saints movement.

Very interesting stuff.

I met some Mormon missionaries the other day, and when they approached me I said I'm not interested in the tenets of a church founded by a Freemason. They're so kept in the dark they could never understand, so I summarized by saying essentially that Freemasons take Tikkun Olam as their mission, reshaping the world in man's image instead of seeking harmony with God's creation. I think that actually sunk in.

It makes sense that Smith was on some hallucinagen. Where else could he have come up with that wacky Angel Moroni shit?
Take heed to yourself lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither you go, lest it become a snare in the midst of you.

Mormon perceptions of Israel.

------

Mormon Support for Israel
August 18, 2005 — J. Stapley

Today, we watch as the Israeli military continues the forced abandonment of Gaza. I am reminded how I lack the conceptual tools to realize a just and peaceful ending.  Like others, history and politics are blended into my amalgam, but there is also my Mormonism.

I think Mormons have trended toward our Evangelical friends when it comes to Israel. Certain strains of eschatology flavor popular thought. Waiting for the Rapture.  We also have the Book of Mormon and we project its words onto the contemporary State of Israel (e.g., 2 Ne 6:12-15 or 2 Ne 10:7-8). The tendency is to associate the "gathering of Israel" with the post-WWII return of the Jews to Palestine. This is understandable when you see verbiage like"carrying them forth to the lands of their inheritance."

We have the 1845 Proclamation of the Twelve:

And we further testify, that the Jews among all nations are hereby commanded, in the name of the Messiah, to prepare, to return to Jerusalem in Palestine, and to rebuild that city...

And also to organize and establish their own political government, under their own rulers, judges, and governors, in that country.

While I appreciate modern Israel and have many grand aspirations for it, I don't necessarily believe that the current State is the fulfillment of our prophecy.  The Book of Mormon qualifies that such a gathering is predicated on the Jew's conversion to Christ.  The Proclamation also declares:

For be it known unto [the Jews] that we now hold the keys of the priesthood and kingdom which is soon to be restored unto them.

Therefore let them also repent, and prepare to obey the ordinances of God.

Israel is the closest thing to a democracy in the region. However, the concept of a Jewish state is disconcerting.  We have no problem dismissing Minister Farrakhan's precept of a separate black state. I don't believe our Zion will ever be a separate Mormon state in mortality.

I am left with a sincere sorrow for each individual that will lose their home to the bulldozer in the coming days. I wish I could conceive of any way in which the Israeli-Palestine conflict could be assuaged.  In spite of our sympathy, perhaps it is time we reconsider our perceptions of the contemporary State of Israel.

Questions and Answers

These answers are printed to give help and perspective, not as pronouncements of Church doctrine.
"How does a Latter-day Saint look at the current Israeli-Arab conflict in light of scriptural references to Judah returning to the Holy Land? Does this mean that a Latter-day Saint favors the Israeli position? How would a Latter-day Saint evaluate the position of the Arabs, who also seem to have legitimate claims?"

G. Homer Durham, "Q&A: Questions and Answers," New Era, Aug. 1971, 34
Answer/Brother G. Homer Durham

The foregoing questions suggest the idea that there is, or should be (in the current situation), an official, authoritative Latter-day Saint answer "in light of scriptural references to Judah returning to the Holy Land." Certainly such specific response would be possible, if the First Presidency thought it necessary. However, to my knowledge, they have made no statement on the current situation in the Middle East.

As Latter-day Saints, we have been made aware of the Jews and their place in the house of Israel. That awareness, however, does not suggest that we have policies and attitudes regarding all of their crises and national problems.

The Book of Mormon, a new witness for Christ to the Jew and the gentile, appeared in 1830. Latter-day Saints have always since viewed the return of the Jews to the Holy Land as part of the program of this dispensation.

Leaders of the Church from the time of Joseph Smith have reflected on the return of the Jews. The Book of Mormon in 2 Nephi 10:7 [2 Ne. 10:7] states that the Jews "shall be restored in the flesh, upon the earth, unto the lands of their inheritance." (See also President David O. McKay's discussion in Gospel Ideals, Improvement Era, 1953, p. 556.)

The Balfour Declaration of 1917 and the 1948 action of the United Nations terminating British rule, providing for the creation of the State of Israel, provoked private and public expression from leaders and members of the Church. Section 133 of the Doctrine and Covenants [D&C 133] bears directly on the general theme involved. Anticipation of "Armageddon," scene of the defeat of anti-Christian powers in the Revelation of St. John (Rev 16:16), also has invited reflection and speculation.

The State of Israel has been established. The surrounding Arab states view it as a thorn in the flesh that must be plucked out. Through it all, the State of Israel since 1948 has demonstrated the will to live and to survive.

We need to remember, though, that the Arabs are also children of Abraham. Hence, the complications of any given hour, event, or conflict really suggest another gospel view: namely, that both Jews and Arabs need to rekindle their mutual heritage of kinship and brotherhood. The example of the pure love of Christ and the message of the restoration of his gospel must eventually be the means of reconciliation if there is to be reconciliation.

In the meantime, then, even though there will be many crises, perhaps losses and gains on both sides, we can rest assured that the prophets have foreseen some of the end results. In 1936 President Joseph Fielding Smith wrote:

"Today the words of the prophets are being fulfilled. Judah is being gathered. Jerusalem is being rebuilt and the Lord is preparing to redeem his ancient people. Eventually they will be sitting under their own vine and fig tree, enjoying the fulness of the Gospel, and the blessings of the house of the Lord, in fulfillment of the words of Ezekiel:

" 'Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore'—Ezek. 37:26." (The Progress of Man, Genealogical Society of Utah, 1952, p. 129.)
