Roger Daltry: ANTI-SEMITE! Oh and Massive Attack might be anti-Semites too  :o

QuoteAn American Jewish organisation has become embroiled in a row with the lead singer of British rock band Pink Floyd.

The Anti Defamation League (ADL) has criticised Roger Waters for "crossing a line into antisemitism" after it emerged that he will use a planned concert to juxtapose a Jewish symbol with the dollar sign.

In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Mr Waters revealed that during his forthcoming tour he will be performing in front of a projection showing Israel dropping bombs in the shape of stars of David, followed by the dollar symbol.

The animated scene, a condemnation of Israel's security fence, will form the backdrop to performances of his 1979 hit Goodbye Blue Sky.

Abraham Foxman, the ADL's national director, criticised the singer for what he described as an "outrageous" action.

He said: "The use of such imagery in a concert setting seems to leave the message open to interpretation, and the meaning could easily be misunderstood as a comment about Jews and money.

Mr Foxman said that while musicians had "every right" to express their beliefs through music, the singer " should have chosen some other way to convey his political views."

He added that this was "playing into and dredging up the worst age-old antisemitic stereotype about Jews and their supposed obsession with making money."

Mr Waters, 67, is a longtime critic of Israeli policy. During a 2009 concert in Israel he said he hoped that the security fence was "destroyed soon."

At the Big Chill festival in August Massive Attack performed in front of a screen featuring slogans about Israelis' wealth and troop numbers.

ahaze

'Roger that' eye opening call out Maz, and those of us brainwashed in Rock 'n Roll know your referencing the right Roger from 'Pink Floyd', but 'Roger Daltry' is the cheerleader for 'The Who' and never demonstrates a functional conscience, whereas 'Roger Waters' looks like he's stepping up standards in noteworthy ways.

Here's Roger Waters performing the "Goodbye Blue Sky" tune recently in Toronto complete with video of the video the J-tribers are whining about.  Yeah, it shows stars of David amidst dollar signs falling from bombers, but it also shows Christian crosses and the Muslim crescent and star falling as well.

And here's Roger Daltry helping the 'The Who' prostitute their sounds performing "Won't Get Fooled Again" at 'The Concert For New York City' in the wake of 9/11.

"For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence--on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day. It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations." - JFK, NYC, April 27, 1961

LOL where the hell did I get Roger Daltry from

Oh yeah, I know, I was reading an e-book about subliminals in music and one of the topic's was The Who's "Tommy"  :D

Niggasaki

The real story of Roger's anti semitism is from a couple years ago when he graffitied "no thought control" on one of Israel's prison looking walls. This current story of the concert video is a gross exageration after watching the video.

  well done Rodger, gotta love the guys balls.  :D:D  i'll drink to that.

This really does show once and for all that "anti-semitic" is now about as meaningful as Douglas Reed's lampoon: "anti-semolina".
