A fine show from The Orthodox Nationalist http://reasonradionetwork.com/_archive/MRJ_20101118.mp3.  I won't attempt to summarize.

First half is on Nikolai Berdyaev and his philosophy and connection with Dostoevsky (Christian critique of modernity)

Second half gets into Bal worship, Israel, Talmud, slaving, etc.  If I had the time I'd do a transcript.  Highly, highly recommended.

Panop, is my title ok?  I'd started listening a few weeks ago and was interrupted.  Blown away by the second half.  I now recall your signature.

CSR, if you're in the house, thanks.  Was your link to Yeager's show that put me onto Johnson.  Rereading Crime and Punishment and it's a whole new book with the ON's explication of the issues.  The version I've got has a nice Jewish intro and I'm curious if this is now true of other works and versions.  Undoubtedly is.

I purchased an original 1949 Scribner's and Sons Boris Brasol translation boxset of The Diary of a Writer because I was afraid they'd edit out all of the Jewish stuff. Haven't looked at any of the new stuff. I wanted to read his diary first (contains the Jewish Question entry) all the way through to understand him before I read his books. I started a thread full of his Jew quotes as they appear in the diary. I haven't been able to read for awhile because of school, but I'm going to finish it up over break. You can find the thread in "Must Read, Hear, Watch" forum. Dostoevsky is beautiful.

Panop, thanks for the book info.  what did the set cost?  I see one set out there for $100.  Have you heard Johnson on the Cossacks?  Raiding the Jewish slave trains, slaughtering the slavers, and setting the slaves free.

Oh, great thanks for the material! Looking forward to listening this afternoon!

By some struck of luck, I found a hardbound set (two volumes in case) for 35.00 on Amazon (the others on the list were, as you say, around 100) - it was collecting dust in some little indy bookstore in the midwest if I'm not mistaken. The books are in perfect condition, no visible wear or aging whatsoever. The case is shelf-worn around the edges, but still completely solid with original descriptions and everything.

On a related note, I was on campus the other day and one of my teachers pointed out that the english department had a huge box of books they were giving away. I love books so I thought "awesome." Turns out, there was an ENTIRE 12 VOLUMES of Alfred Lord Tennyson's complete works, ORIGINAL 1895 EDITION!! The pages aren't even cut!!! It's quite beautiful, really. From some old timer's collection, the bookplate: "Ex Libris Byron H. Jackson - Old Books to Read, Old Wood to Burn Old Wine to Drink, Old Friends to love."
