Dreams of Unknown Origin

Every once in a while I'll have a dream that appears to be a message but is also of absolutely unknown origin.  For example, and for the Irish on this board, I had a dream of three words, written in blood, which were painted on the stainless steel back door of an 18 Wheeler cargo truck.

I only recognized one word-"Irish"- and the other two identical words were-"Ishi" and it was arranged in one line: ""Ishi Irish Ishi".

So I used a search engine to look up "Ishi Irish Ishi".  It seems "Ishi" is a Gaelic word meaning "Dove" and I'm sure there are some other definitions.  My question to board members of the Irish persuasion is:  Does this "Ishi Irish Ishi" mean anything to you ?

As a side note, there have been many times in my life where I had to research dream content due to items appearing which I have had no previous exposure; items such as words, phrases, logos, geography, clothing/attire of dream characters etc.  Where this stuff comes from I can think of no waking-world prior experience.

Dear Wimpy,

I immediately recognized "Ishi" as potentially Hebrew.

So I checked, http://www.hebrew-word.com, and the site's translator gives the definition as "Friday."  I really don't know how it came up with this answer.

So I checked a related site, http://www.german-word.com, and the result was "abschaffend," literally,"{adv.} suppressing, liquidating, abolishing."

So then I checked the related, http://www.french-word.com, and the result was "suprenant," lterally, "{adv.} startling."

Then, a historical reference from, http://www.babylon.com/definition/Ishi/English:

QuoteIshi (ca. 1860 – March 25, 1916) was the pseudonym of the last member of the Yahi, in turn the last surviving group of the Yana people of California. Ishi is believed to be the last Native American in Northern California to have lived most of his life completely outside the European American culture. He emerged from the wild near Oroville, California, leaving his ancestral homeland in the foothills near Lassen Peak.

Ishi is also a biblical name sharing roots with the word for "my salvation," and is also sharing its root meanings with the names Jesse, Joshua and Jesus.  Although it is hard to see it in a religious context, given the dream.

And lastly, an unusual result from the 'Orcish' lexicon, http://www.angelfire.com/ia/orcishnatio ... rases.html

Quote"-ishi" : Within

So, putting it all together, the interpretation I am getting is that the trailer truck has Irish within it, who like Ishi was to his tribe the last true one, these Irish are also the last true Irish.  They are being suppressed, liquidated, carried away to be finished off crammed in the back of 18 wheelers.  They were startled and taken unawares by something that did or will happen on a Friday.

Thank you for the in depth search and analysis Michael!

I had been out of town and just read your response this AM.  I posted this dream/vision on another site where one of the mods happens to be part Am. Indian and he also posted a reply about Ishi the last Indian from a California tribe.  The synchronicity of your multiple and eerily similar Ishi definitions along with his reply inspires a foreboding feeling.  I'll reflect upon these thoughts and then tuck it away, hoping it was just an ordinary nonsensical dream.

On rare occasion, dreams of mine with a certain similar 'feel' have been premonitory.  I know this site is not a proper venue but having so many fine people of Irish descent led me to share it.  Take it with a grain.

Holy cow! That sounds spooky. I don't know what it means, but it doesn't sound very promising.  When I have a dream like that, I usually pray afterward.
