Notes from David Irving Churchill's war

- some of the stuff covered in this talk seems like it probably also stems from the research he did for his other book, Hitler's War

** Also, a lot of this information about who was repeatedly offering peace and who was refusing such offers is consistent w/info in this documentary: Hitler's War- What Historians Neglect to Mention (excellent IMO). And the info about the money behind Churchill is consistent w/the research of Dick Eastman into Bernard Baruch (presented on show w/rense)

Here are some of the points made (and I'm sure there's more I missed b/c he's such a fast talker):

3 min- letters from former German Chancellor Bruning to Churchill, stating that from 1928 on, two largest contributors to Nazi party were 2 general managers of the 2 largest banks in Berlin, both were jewish, one was leader of Zionism in Germany

- Says lot of what Brits were told about Hitler were lies b/c Churchill did the lying--Churchill quote "truth is so fragile that it needs a bodyguard of lies to protect it"

-Irving says how could Churchill and his cabinet admit that they fought a pointless war from 1940 onward?  we caused immense carnage across Europe, bankrupted the nation, destroyed our empire- how could we admit it? We couldn't, so had to tell lies to make it seem worth it all

-by end of 1939, Poland ceased to exist as it once was (invaded by Germany and Russia, so no need for fake claims that Britain cared about Polish independence/sovereignty)

-by spring 1940 point of war ceased to exist, Churchill came to power, needed to come up w/reason for more war, so started saying that British empire was under threat, that Hitler was going to invade/attack Britain

-but the truth is that Hitler had no aims against Britain- this was evident in private communications and communications through intermediaries. Hitler said he was willing to withdraw from France, Poland, Czech; Hitler sent Rudolph Hess on peace mission in 1941

16 min -then a new war aim emerged, we were fighting the devil incarnate, didn't know what that was until we saw the camps. Nobody said that all this carnage had been going on throughout the war, but this is what was put to the people in the cinemas/propaganda. This seemed to make the war seem worthwhile

-logical questions were never asked, like weren't the Brits and Americans responsible for creating the conditions/chaos that allowed disease/typhus/starvation? We deliberately produced the conditions behind the german lines through our bombing campaign. We bombed pharmaceuticals, highways, railroads, bridges, so food/supplies couldn't get through. But those logical questions were never asked

22min- talked about control of history, university professors, publishing houses and why such questions are never asked

25 min- covers Churchill's "time in the wilderness (1930-39)," before he was in office. Lots of financial problems, but eventually got backing from secret pressure group called "The Focus" which included politicians and city of London financiers, also got money from American Jewish Congress in NY and huge amount of money from Jewish Board of Deputies in London.

***Irving says that from that point on Churchill was clearly bought and was asked to forget about india, colonial policies, unemployment and "point his gun on Germany"

54 min –  publishing industry and response to his first book Hitler's War when he made no mention of mass killing of jews. Irving was told to make stuff up, just say something etc  or risk losing lots of deals. Irving refused b/c he found no evidence in his 10 years of working on the book—there were NO documents addressing this

56- on the contrary, Irving found evidence that Hitler actually took steps to protect jews, like when he found out about Kristalnacht, he took frantic efforts to put a stop to it. Irving said if crimes were perpetrated against jews, it was occurring at lower levels not initiated by Hitler

59 min- there's a document that stated something like "the solution to the jewish issue will be postponed until the war is over" (having them deported to Palestine?).   document conveniently vanished after the war, disappeared from Nuremberg files. Document reappeared in 1950 when it was no longer of use in the war crimes trial. Irving notes that historians refuse to acknowledge the existence of this document, even though it has been authenticated.

Irving: "Historians fake to blacken the name of Hitler to justify our war against him and they fake to purify the name of Churchill"

Irving- Churchill fought this war against Germany and Europe for glorification of his own name (and for those financiers/bankers from "The Focus" who were funding him)

June 1940- Hitler made peace offer to Britain, saying Germany wants nothing from Britain or British Empire. Hitler was prepared to give German forces to defend the British Empire from Italians, Japanese, Russians, or any other aggressor.

Sounded like ½ of British Cabinet and British people wanted peace by 1940

1 hr 6 min- Churchill determined to end peace movement and get US into war, told Ambassador Kennedy he would do this by getting Germany to bomb London (hitler had banned bombing of English towns/cities, but after Berlin was hit 7 times, he revoked the ban). According to Irving, when Churchill learned Hitler changed his stance on bombing London "his eyes gleemed"

-churchill always knew in advance about the bombings and fled to countryside

-toward end, Irving talked about Churchill being a TOTAL DRUNK and that he made decision while drunk

He apparently ordered poison gas bombs be dropped on German cities (order was blocked)

*** Churchill also ordered the release of 2 million anthrax bombs on Germany.  This order was also blocked. Irving says that if this order that Churchill issued while in a drunken stupor was followed the whole of western Europe would still be uninhabitable today
