Americans trying to come to grips with end of Social Security

Associated Press March 18, 2013

The US public is still trying to come to grips with President Romney's Executive Order last Friday effectively shutting down the Social Security system for millions of retired, disabled and elderly Americans.

Romney's Executive Order #666911 will end Social Security checks and benefits for Americans beginning fiscal year 2013. President Romney said this draconian measure was necessary because the system was no longer solvent, and was contributing too much additional strain on the national debt. The President stated that any remaining funds in the Social Security system would be audited by a combination of JPMorgan/Chase and Goldman Sachs and that a final one time payment would be calculated and sent to current recipients on August 1st, probably amounting to $3500 on average.

Congressional representatives were up in arms about these across the board measures affecting their constituents, but President Romney claimed that his moves were unavoidable on grounds of national security as preparations for invasions of Iran & Pakistan ramped up. The President also increased aid to Israel by $25 billion for the coming fiscal year, stating that 'The existence of Israel in a secure environment is at the top of the US priority list. A world without a secure Israel in leadership of the Middle East is a world that would have no reason to exist'.

More to come...
