Nigel Farage vs. Mark Rutte over het EU-voorzitterschap (ondertiteld)

For an almost deflate Eu Plenary Hall Rutte had to listen this morning
to dozens of request numbers. 'Save Schengen', 'Keep the British in',
'Fix the internal market', 'Solve migration crisis',' Campaigning
before assocatieverdrag. And Rutte could do nothing but sheepish grin
(and indeed campaign promise that he will perform -hoera!). And then
came Nigel Farage, rubbing with eagerness a little salt in that
referendum wound with Rutte. "There is an outbreak of an infectious
disease," said Farage. "It started thousands of years ago by the
Greeks, but now lives again." And then he turns to Rutte:
"What surprised me about your speech, as prime minister of the
Netherlands, is that you didn't mention the fact that 427,000 of your
own citizens have outed themselves in public, declared themselves to be
carriers, called a referendum for the 6th of April, and encouraged the
rest of the country to join in. I suppose it must be embarassing for
you. The diagnosis, by the way: the disease is called democracy! And
people want to have a say on their future. Mr. Juncker here, says that
there'll be a continental crisis if the Dutch vote 'NO'. Well, I'll
drink to that is all that I can say."
[Public: 'hear hear!'][Rutte: farmer with tootheache]
Incidentally Farage was yesterday also on a nice stride, this time
against his nemesis Verhofstadt. And being a bad loser then gets very low
towards Farage:

Nigel Farage over 'Keulen' en Brexit (ondertiteld)

A little moment in Euro Parliament Tuesday afternoon. Nigel Farage
spoke on behalf of the EFDD about the upcoming referendum for the
English Brexit. He gives then Guy Verhofstadt an open invitation to
come campaign against a Brexit.  When Crazy Guy accepts the invitation,
UKIP MEPs burst out in cheers :

Because a visit by the Flemish euro  fanatic has the same effect as the
continental crisis cries of Pope  Juncker against The Dutch Referendum:
first everyone laughs at you  hard, and then they vote the exact opposite.
Because it's possible. As  with Verhofstadt only moments later the penny
drops he realizes he's been belittled, Farage is already on his next topic:
the aftermath of Cologne. And the demagogue from Maidan has still to
say something about Farage. We have not decided yet what is worse,
the nasty sneer by Verhofstadt, or the fact that President Schulz allows him
to shrug off  with zero remarks ...
