Somehow, Clinton Mafia was probably involved.

Young DNC voter database employee shot and killed with two shots to his back. Nothing was taken, no witnesses. He had allegedly talked about Hillary Clinton trying to buy voting machine companies with money and threats before.

A young idealist who worked for the Democratic National Committee was murdered early Sunday as he walked home in the Bloomingdale neighborhood in affluent Northwest Washington D.C.

Seth Rich, 27, was shot multiple times including twice in the back. His mother Mary Rich told the local NBC station that her son was found with bruises on his face, knees and hands – signs that he fought for his life.

"Worst nightmare," she told News4.

According to Mary Rich, Seth was talking on the phone with his girlfriend at the time of the attack and she heard noise on his end of the line. He told her not to worry about it.sethrich

"They never took anything," she said of her son's mysterious murderer.

As recently as Friday, Rich (pictured above) had taken to Twitter to call for peace and unity following the racially charged Dallas massacre Thursday night.

As with the tragic murder of Molly Macauley in an affluent neighbor of nearby Baltimore in recent days, social media is abounding with political conspiracy theories and racially charged comments about Rich's murder — even though very little is known about his killing and nothing about his killers.

Police have not identified a suspect and say there is absolutely no indication that politics were involved in the killing.

Rich lived in the neighborhood, police told a news conference Monday. He worked as a voter expansion data director for the DNC, whose chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz issued a statement Monday.

"Our hearts are broken with the loss of one of our DNC family members over the weekend. Seth Rich was a dedicated, selfless public servant who worked tirelessly to protect the most sacred right we share as Americans – the right to vote," she said of the Omaha native.

"I have an enormous interest in public service and working towards making the world a better place," Rich wrote on his LinkedIn page.

A voter database employee with the Democratic National Committee was shot and killed a block from his Washington, D.C. home, police said.
Seth Conrad Rich, 27, died early Sunday from multiple gunshot wounds sustained in an attack in Washington's Bloomingdale neighborhood. D.C. police have found little information to explain his death. At this time, there are no suspects, no motive and no witnesses in Rich's murder.
There is no immediate indication that robbery was a motive in the attack, police said, but it has not been ruled out as a possibility.

Joel Rich, the victim's father, told the Washington Post that police suggested the attack may have resulted from a robbery gone awry. Although nothing was stolen from the victim, Rich believes his son engaged his assailants before he was killed.

Police officers patrolling the area responded to the gun shots around 4:20 a.m. using the ShotSpotter system to find the location of the shooting. Rich was taken to a local hospital where he died a short time later.

The shooting has rattled residents of the Bloomingdale neighborhood where Rich lived in a townhouse with several roommates.
"No one wants to be able to feel they can't go home at night," Teri Janine Quinn, head of the Bloomingdale Civic Association, told the Washington Post. "Nobody wants to hear that someone was murdered blocks from their home."

The neighborhood, located near Howard University on the northwest outskirts of downtown D.C., has suffered 20 armed robberies in 2016 — two times more than at this same time last year.
But the ripples of Rich's murder go far beyond the community where he lived and worked for the DNC to help voters identify and locate polling locations.

Rich was remembered affectionately by community members in Omaha, Neb., where the Creighton University graduate was educated and raised.
"Seth was an amazing young man," said Rabbi Steven Abraham of local synagogue Beth-El where Rich's relatives are active, multi-generational members. "He devoted his life to helping others secure their right to vote. He was a mensch."
DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz expressed appreciation for the young man's commitment to civic service.
"Seth Rich was a dedicated, selfless public servant who worked tirelessly to protect the most sacred right we share as Americans — the right to vote," she said in statement released by the DNC.
Rich's father told the Washington Post "politics was in his blood."
