Members of the Bavaria Jewish community and local authorities met in Nuremberg on Thursday, to discuss growing antisemitism and necessary countermeasures in the wake of the Wednesday attack on Halle's synagogue.

Bavarian Minister President Markus Soder called for tougher laws against antisemitism, as he expressed shame over Wednesday's shooting that claimed two lives.

"Anti-Semitism has re-emerged in recent years, inflamed. This is a real change and it simply cannot go unanswered," he said.

Joachim Hamburger who acts as the Chairman of the Jewish Community of Nuremberg said he had foreseen the attack saying, "Halle was the culmination of things we've seen on the horizon since 2016, 2017 and 2018."

On Wedensday, a 27-year old man opened fire outside a synagogue in the eastern German city of Halle killing two people, in what has been acknowledged a far-right terror attack by German Justice Minister Christine Lambrecht.

I haven't read into this at all or even seen any videos but any story about setting up a livestream in order to kill anyone is most likely fake. They are saying that he built his own firearms using information obtained to the internet.

German Domestic Intellience Chief on the New Wave of Hate

Quote

In an interview, Thomas Haldenwang, the president of Germany's domestic intelligence agency, discusses the new threat of extremism in the wake of the Halle attack and his agency's need for greater authority in the monitoring of such threats.

DER SPIEGEL: Mr. Haldenwang, the perpetrator in Halle who attempted to conduct a mass murder at a synagogue on Oct. 9 appears to have come out of nowhere. He seems to have struck without the authorities ever having noticed his extremism. As president of Germany's Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) what's your explanation for this?

Haldenwang: He must have had a long-term plan of action -- he built his weapons using his own resources. To do that, he must have obtained material from the internet. But as far as we know so far, he didn't share his plans for the anti-Semitic attack with anyone.
