One of history's Stranger Coincidences:

The Movie "China Syndrome" was released on March 16, 1979.

Three Mile Island partial meltdown happened on March 28, 1979.

The US went from Pro-Nuclear to Anti-Nuclear in 14 days.

Who Benefited ?

Was it reflective of Israel's desire to get rid of Carter ?

Some years back, I somehow discovered a podcast about Three Mile Island.  The podcast is Nuclear Hotseat https://nuclearhotseat.com/ .  It's a jewish woman named Libbe HaLevy, and, apparently, she's making her living trading on the fact that, apparently, she lived near Three Mile Island.

Thanks !

*.mp3's are GOOD.

I use a player named VLC video player, and it allows you to turn the Volume way up.

I listen to webcasts when I'm working, but web based webcasts are usually impossible to listen to because they're not that loud.

It looks like the environmental impact from Three Mile Island was comparable to an outright nuclear explosion.

Lots of people who lived 1 to 3 miles away got all sorts of serious illnesses from radiation exposure.

However, the pure act of over-heating a core, letting it get up to 4000 F, more than hot enough to melt steel, does not in itself constitute an environmental hazard - until you try to clean it up.

If you can leave it alone in a sealed container - and TMI was sealed - the radiation "just sits there".

In other words, there were very significant releases of Nuclear Debris of small particle size, like smoke particles.
