Hong Kong - Nike has rolled out an major marketing campaign themed "Be transformed" to demonstrate the empowerment training can have for the modern women.

The campaign illustrates the positive changes of women becoming stronger and more confident through sports, featuring personal stories of local athletes beach volleyball player Sonia Kong and dancer Flora Hon.  

Vivian Chan, brand communications manager for Nike Hong Kong, said the campaign was aimed squarely at young women.

Chan described the target as young, girly, stylish and passionate about sports.  

"Sports is an expression of herself and her creativity. She trains to be strong in mind, body and spirit," she said.

Throughout the campaign, the Nike Zoom Sister One+ footwear is featured, which is specifically designed to provide women with lightweight support in their training.

The campaign will run until March and include TV executions on free-to-air and pay TV, a significant out-of-home push including outdoor TV, as well as print and cinema ads.

The website includes video blips of the athletes undergoing their own personal transformations into an animated superhero. Online ad placements include Yahoo, MSN, TVB.com and Facebook group.

The "Be Transformed" campaign is part of an exclusive Asia Pacific region initiative featuring five female Nike athletes developed in conjunction with AKQA and Curious Pictures. Mindshare Hong Kong handled media buying and planning duties.
