QuoteAmbulances in the war-torn Gaza Strip will soon stop running completely due to a lack of fuel, a senior health official has said.

Muawiya Hassanain, the head of the General Administration of emergency and ambulance services in the Palestinian Health Ministry, has told the Palestinian Ma'an news agency that after calling the owners of local petrol stations, he has determined that there is simply no fuel to keep the ambulance fleet running.

The Zionist regime shut down the Nahal Oz fuel terminal, Gaza's main crossing point for liquid fuels a week ago. On Wednesday Israel allowed one small shipment of industrial fuel into the Strip, but no petrol for automobiles. The closing of Nahal Oz follows nearly 10 months of a crippling blockade on Gaza.

Hassanain noted that the fuel shortage is coming as Israel is bombing and shelling the Gaza Strip and continuously carries out deadly incursions into the region.

He added that dozens of those wounded by the Zionist regime are waiting to leave the Gaza Strip for treatment elsewhere. He called for the Rafah crossing with Egypt to be opened.

Thanks for Gaza news update. With no ambulances running or gas for the cars, we will sadly see the death rates rise dramatically. Yet the world stays silent.
