QuoteGeorge Osborne is to set out proposals to abolish the Financial Services Authority and hand financial regulation back to the Bank of England.

The shadow chancellor said he would also crack down on "risky" investments by high street banks - but he would not break banks up as some have demanded.

The proposals will be set out in a white paper on Monday.

Mr Osborne told BBC One's Andrew Marr show people would be surprised by the level of detail in the document.
