The Depression has caused Internet access loss, we can take advantage of this. Recently, many of the most prolific Bittorrent uploaders have discontinued their service, because they could not afford the cost of an Internet connection. This has dramatically decreased the number of daily uploads, hence any new uploads stay near the top of the list on the first page for a much longer time.

If we start releasing more material onto Bittorrent websites (The Pirate Bay, Mininova, etc...), the likelihood that people will download them is much greater these days. ;)

one of the reasons i don't use BitTorrent yet is i don't understand the security issues.

how is it different that downloading an *.mp3 ?

A bit torrent client gets pieces of the mp3 from many different seeders, see the link above for the written explanations and pictorial representations of how it works.
