Taking back our tech - awsome idea (i reckon).

Instead of having security cameras everywhere, I propose we work together to develop our own personal version of electronic surveilence.

Its a simple system - the person wears a camera and a microphone, maybe built into a hat. There is a button on the hat or whatever, and at any moment they choose, all that they see and hear is instantly recorded and uploaded to the net. Office drones with net connections would be alerted and act as the witness's.

Nothing more than lens, mic, and gprs modem. Cheap as chinese chips. Ive already built a prototype, but it requires a laptop in my backpack, Im looking for capital and tech nerds so I can build a proper one.

First we provide it to children. The girls version could be a nice tiara style or something, the boys a space helmet or some shit. If the kid hits the button, mum and dad get a txt, jump on a computer and supervise.

Goodbye bullies. I am my own police. I dont need the goverment to ensure my, or my childs safety.

Ive thought this shit through and I cant fault it, but Id like some critical feedback.

I think it would be a perfect deterent. In fact, it could even be fake and still do its job, no?

By deception...

Fuck I love being a smart arse :)

BTW, no patenting that shit on me, got it?

Free ideas is the right way.

Recorder!

I instantly thought of this, because I've always had a fantasy about being a recorder!

Try to keep the WIFI antenna away from the brain, though!

Powers/Abilities: The Recorder is composed on an unspecified ferrous alloy. Its information gathering instrumentation is located in its head component, analogous to eyes, ears, nose, etc. Its eyes take in data across the entire electromagnetic spectrum (radio to gamma rays), not just the visible spectrum. Its ears can register sounds from 0.3 to 150 deciBel. The sampling rate for average events is every 0.01 second; for relatively more interesting events it is every .001 second. The computer data-processing system fills the entire chest cavity and has 40 terabytes (trillions of bytes) of information storage capacity. It can dispense its information in three-dimensional, audio (and probably tactile, olfactory, and taste) -enhanced holograms
It is equipped with a vocoder permitting it to communicate verbally, and it is able to understand and speak over 11,000 languages spoken throughout the Milky Way galaxy and others explored by the Rigellians. It speaks be declaring the type of sentence it will be using: i.e. "Interrogative: What is the fairer sex?",
or "Statement: I believe my fluid systems will imbibe a 'Borrillian Gear-Slipper.' 30-weight, please.",
or "Stapment: Where ish the facilities? I beeleef I'm about to spling a leek!"

Can we see your schematics?  Or a block diagram?

i've been interested in this since about 2003 and have spent about $2000 pursuing it.  the hitch for me is i want 6+ hours of recording time.

an example is the most recent Apple MacBooks - the ones with the 8-hour batteries.

another example is a mini-ITX motherboard.  for example ~

" Intel BOXDQ45EK LGA 775 Intel Q45 Mini ITX Intel Motherboard "

it's about 6" square and just needs a few more parts to be a working computer - CPU, RAM, hard drive, then Operating System & camera; also, video capture software.  the motherboard has on-board video so you can start a session, then unplug the monitor, walk around with a live video surveillance system in your hat (just as an example).

then - before the battery dies - you have to leave the surveillance area, go back to your car or whatever, re-attach the video monitor, close down the recording session, let the system save the video file (which might take 15 minutes), then attach a  USB drive & copy the raw video file to it for editing on a "normal computer".

the hitch for me has been the power supply/ battery.  a computer system typically needs +5, +12, and a trickle of -5 and -12 volts (though i'm not up to date on the spec, i don't know if the -5 and -12 are still necessary.)

i suppose the Rodney King video is a good example of the power of this technology, "for the people".  without that video, it would have been just another example of LAPD beating up a young black man; we would never have heard of it.  now obviously Rodney King is not an angel, but i don't think he deserved anything more than a pair of handcuffs that night.

completely, i support the use of technology "for the people".  one other example of this is Steven Dunifer; he is a pioneer in micro-radio and has had a few run-ins with the FCC.  the FCC likes to control the radio waves.  just imagine if someone set up a broadcast system broadcasting some TIU or DBS in a major urban area on an un-allocated AM or FM frequency.
Planet of the SWEJ - It's a Horror Movie.
