QuoteIsraeli president Shimon Peres has sparked controversy after claiming that Iran's president 'provides the World with bombs, not food'.

In a Wednesday interview, Peres criticized the United Nation's for inviting Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to attend the conference on food security in Rome.

He claimed that President Ahmadinejad provides the world with 'bombs, not food' and therefore the international body's invitation was a 'disservice' to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

Israel labels Iran as 'a state sponsor of terrorism' and stops at nothing to demonize the country in the international community.

By accusing Iran of sponsoring state terrorism and alleging that the country has a covert nuclear weapons program, Israel hopes to isolate the Islamic Republic in the international community.

This is while as a victim of terrorism, the Islamic Republic has always condemned all forms and manifestations of such acts of violence and has taken drastic measures to combat this menace.

The Zionist regime bars inspections of its nuclear facilities and is widely believed to have over 200 nuclear warheads in its arsenal. Israel calls its approach of neither denying nor admitting that it has nuclear weapons 'strategic ambiguity'.

Iran, however, is a signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and allows the UN nuclear watchdog to conduct inspections of its nuclear facilities. Tehran maintains that as an NPT member it is entitled to enrich uranium for civilian purposes.
