A man allegedly carrying several weapons including grenades outside a trailer park in Branchburg, New Jersey was arrested early Monday morning.

Police say Lloyd Woodson, 43, of Reston, Virginia, tried to hide in bushes near the trailer park when he was spotted.

According to the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office, police received a 911 call just before 4 a.m. about a suspicious man at a Quick Check convenience store on Route 28.

After Woodson took off and was later busted, police say they found more weapons including an assault rifle, a semi-automatic gun and a map of a U.S. military base inside the motel room where he was staying.

The FBI is assisting police in the case.

"Woodson does not appear to have a link to any known terrorist groups, nor a specific terrorist plot," said Special Agent Bryan L. Travers of the FBI. "However, the matter is still under investigation and these should only be considered preliminary findings."

Woodson faces multiple weapons charges.

The prosecutor's office said police found these items in the motel room:

    * Bushmaster .308 caliber semi-automatic assault rifle with a defaced serial number
    * 37mm Cobray flare launcher
    * Ballistic vest
    * Nightsight Illuminator NP75 (Russia) night vision scope
    * Police scanner
    * Military-style backpack
    * Map of a U.S. military installation
    * Map of an out-of-state civilian community
    * Middle Eastern red-and-white-colored traditional headdress
    * .50 caliber and .308 caliber ammunition
    * Military pouches
    * Garrison equipment
