QuoteEDITORIAL: Arizona to Obama: Do your job
Washington continues to ignore the illegal immigration problem
By THE WASHINGTON TIMES
To hear liberal critics talk, it would be easy to think the state of Arizona unleashed anti-Latino posses to detain all brown-skinned people, demand their proof of citizenship and toss them in jail if the answers aren't satisfactory. The real story is more sober.
The new Arizona immigration law does not institutionalize racial profiling or make being Hispanic a crime. It allows law enforcement officers to conduct citizenship checks of people already detained for unrelated offenses, and only if there is reason to believe someone is in the country illegally. If so, they are handed over to federal immigration officials, who should have apprehended them in the first place.
Illegal immigration is a growing problem. A CBS/New York Times poll in mid-April found that 83 percent of respondents thought it was either a very or somewhat serious issue. Americans are especially concerned because of double-digit unemployment and state budgets straining to provide services.
Washington has been either unable or unwilling to cope with the problem, and Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer said the law she signed last week was intended to fill the enforcement vacuum created by federal passivity. "We in Arizona have been more than patient waiting for Washington to act," she said at the signing ceremony, "but decades of inaction and misguided policy have created a dangerous and unacceptable situation." President Obama countered that it was the Arizona law that was "misguided" while also acknowledging that the immigration system was "broken," which actually is Mrs. Brewer's point.
The O Force claims Arizonans are illegally trespassing on federal legal domain. "The determination of who should or shouldn't be in this country is not one for the states to make," Mr. Obama said. "This is a federal prerogative. Even if the states think we aren't doing our job, they have no right to step in." Like much of what the president says, this is not true.
The Supreme Court has ruled that when state laws are harmonious with federal regulations, pre-emption is not a given. In this case, Arizona is not claiming the right to define who is an illegal alien but to help enforce existing federal law. The federal government would need a persuasive reason to argue that Arizona cannot lend a hand, and because the president admitted the system is broken, he seems to have conceded the point.
The Arizona law has a stronger constitutional basis than Mr. Obama either knows or would like to admit. The Supreme Court addressed many issues regarding immigration and the federal-state relationship in De Canas v. Bica (1976), in which migrant workers sued the state of California over a law that prohibited employers from knowingly employing illegal aliens - a provision also included in the new Arizona law. The migrants claimed the law infringed on a federal prerogative, but the high court disagreed. "Power to regulate immigration is unquestionably exclusively a federal power," Justice William J. Brennan wrote for the majority. "But the Court has never held that every state enactment which in any way deals with aliens is a regulation of immigration and thus per se pre-empted by this constitutional power, whether latent or exercised."
Rather than lecturing states on what they cannot do to mitigate the growing crisis of illegal immigration, or loosing the Justice Department on Arizona in search of phantom civil rights violations, Mr. Obama would better serve America by enforcing the laws that are on the books or helping draft new laws more to his liking. It would help if he started by admitting that he is a big part of the problem Arizona is trying to solve.

It's about time!
It's not possible to understand just how bad the illegal alien problem is in Arizona, unless you have been there in the last few years.
Phoenix is the kidnapping capitol of the country and drug cartel violence has become commonplace.
The problem is spreading all across the country as well.
Securing the border and enforcing the immigration laws are both things that the government is supposed to do.

Hell yeah it's about time. Bottom line, we can't afford them and they are here ILLEGALLY. Do it right, or gtfo!

STATES RIGHTS: ARIZONA DEALS WITH ILLEGAL ALIEN IMMIGRATION

Arizona citizens suffer drunk driving deaths, rapes, schools destroyed, hospitals bankrupting and a host of problems from nearly 500,000 illegal aliens working and living in their state.
A whopping 57,000 Arizona citizens walk out to find their cars stolen every year. Mexican drug gangs use those vehicles for transport of their billion dollar enterprises. People traffickers use those stolen cars for the far-reaching illegal alien smuggling network that commences in Phoenix. Arizona schools suffer the children of an estimated 460,000 illegal alien migrants that crossed over the border in violation of federal laws. Arizona's prisons remain full of illegal aliens while citizens and police suffer death at the hands of criminal aliens.
This month, an illegal alien walked over the border to execute lifelong Arizona rancher Rob Krentz on his own property. National Parks Ranger Chris Eggle suffered death at the hands of a drug runner on the Arizona border at Organ Pipe National Park. Over the years, illegal aliens killed several Phoenix police officers: an illegal alien killed Officer Nick Erfle during a traffic stop. The alien enjoyed sanctuary immunity with multiple arrests by Mayor Gordon in Phoenix.
How could such lawlessness gain a stronghold in Arizona?
First of all, former Governor Janet Napolitano failed to enforce immigration laws and would not station National Guard troops on the border. Phoenix Mayor Gordon maintains a 'Sanctuary Policy" that gives immunity from arrest, prosecution and deportation of illegal aliens.
That's about to change!
State Senator Russell Pearce, along with fellow legislators, wrote and passed, S.B. 1070, the strongest anti-illegal alien legislation in the United States. Ironically, it follows federal laws to a T. It creates states rights to enforce federal law because the U.S. Congress refuses to enforce its own laws. Thus, over 20 million illegal aliens remain within the United States—protected by the very lawmakers elected to maintain laws.
Arizona Senators Jon Kyle and John McCain continue standing by with their hands in their back pockets as the invasion overwhelms Arizona. Both face being oustered by new candidates. While McCain just endorsed SB 1070, and encouraged Governor Janet Brewer to sign the bill, he faces candidate J.D. Hayworth in the November runoff. After a lifetime of doing nothing to protect Arizona from illegal immigration, McCain proves old, worn out and ineffective. J.D. Hayworth presents the future of Arizona. The National Border Patrol Council 2544 endorsed Hayworth for election to the U.S. Senate.
State Senator Russell Pearce said, "Arizona will do away with sanctuary policy at the state level and at the city level. We want to let law enforcement officers to do their jobs. States have the inherent right to enforce the laws of our country. Arizona will set the pace. We will lead the charge in Arizona to defend the U.S. Constitution."
Screaming illegal advocates in Phoenix
Hundreds of illegal aliens marched on the capital in Phoenix this week. They know this law will 'sour the milk' for their continued presence. They know their days of lawlessness, free medical, free food, free schooling, assisted housing, untaxed work and pay under the table, and freewheeling--approach an abrupt ending.
"We hope other states will follow our lead," said Pearce. "We cannot continue with weak kneed politicians."

After the Krentz murder, Governor Jan Brewer expects to sign the bill into law.
After the bill becomes law, 460,000 illegal alien will find themselves in a precarious position. Additionally, employers will face felony crimes, heavy fines and jail time. The law will create an exodus from Arizona which will open up job at a living wage for Americans and reduce educational, medical and prison costs as illegals vacate Arizona.
Subsequently, the illegals may return to Mexico, or they may hit other states. One way or the other, it will create a new dynamic, which will force neighboring states to also vote for laws that stop continued illegal alien lawlessness.

IMMIGRATION: THE RULE OF LAW AWAKENS IN ARIZONA

My daddy used to say, "If you want it done right, you have to do it yourself!"
After 30 years of the U.S. Congress and four presidents failing to enforce our immigration laws-- Arizona, led by State Senator Russell Pearce and a brave band of lawmakers—passed SB 1070, the most diligent and forceful immigration law in the nation.
In excess of 460,000 criminal illegal aliens find themselves facing, for the first time in 30 years, the rule of law. As Barney Fife said, "Andy, if we allow those criminals to get away with breaking the law, we'll just get more of 'em."
"You're right," Sheriff Taylor said. "Go arrest them and let's get things back to normal in Mayberry."
"We're tired of tens of thousands of stolen vehicles," one Arizona citizen said. "We're the kidnapping capital of America. Arizonans fear for their lives daily. Illegals have destroyed our schools, hospitals and communities. They fill our prisons. They kill our cops, ranchers and ordinary citizens. We're tired of it."
On Friday, April 23, 2010, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signed the bill into law.
State Senator Russell Pearce said, "States have the inherent right to enforce the laws of our country. Arizona will set the pace. We are a nation of laws. We will lead the charge in Arizona to defend the U.S. Constitution. Arizona will do away with sanctuary cities and the sanctuary state. We want to let law enforcement do its job. We can't continue with weak-kneed politicians."
Having failed as a U.S. Senator to uphold the Constitution for the past 30 years, John McCain endorsed and encouraged Governor Brewer to sign the bill. Why? He's running scared in this next election against opponent J.D. Hayworth.
When you enforce the law, criminals begin to understand their condition. One business in Phoenix pink-slipped 300 employees, presumably illegal aliens, on Thursday in anticipation of the bill being signed by Brewer.
Pearce assured me, "Our attorney Chris Kobach made the bill iron-clad and it follows the precepts of the U.S. Constitution."
President Barack Obama, unwilling for the past year to secure the U.S./Mexican border, said the bill, "Is misguided." Over 70 percent of Arizona registered voters favored the bill, both whites and American Hispanics.
Dan Stein, president of the Federation for American Immigration Reform (www.FAIRUS.org), the nation's leading immigration reform organization, issued the following statement in response to Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signing S.B. 1070: "FAIR applauds Gov. Jan Brewer, Sen. Russell Pearce and other Arizona leaders for acting decisively to protect Arizonans as they cope with a crisis brought on by mass illegal immigration. Once again, Arizona is showing the rest of the nation that in the face of federal indifference to border security, state and local governments have the ability to protect their citizens and public resources.
"Faced with mounting costs, lost jobs and violent crime resulting from mass illegal immigration, Gov. Brewer has acted responsibly to protect Arizonans. In signing S.B. 1070, Gov. Brewer has responded to the will of the people and risen above the incendiary rhetoric of those who are maliciously attempting to divide Arizonans along ethnic lines.
"We hope that enactment of S.B. 1070 will result in renewed interest on the part of Washington to secure the border and enforce our laws throughout the nation. The vast majority of Americans simply want the government to enforce our laws, and Gov. Brewer and the Arizona legislature are proving it can be done."
Having stood on the border for three of the past five years, I am acutely aware of the anarchy, rapes, killings and drug traffic. I witnessed thousands of tons of trash and debris left by illegals. Because our former and current U.S. presidents failed to secure the borders as to the drug trade, 17,000 Mexicans lost their lives in shootouts along the border. Thousands of American citizens lost their lives to illegals throughout the interior of the United States.
Can you 'get' your arms around THAT many deaths? None of them would have happened if Bush and Obama would secure the borders with 30,000 U.S. Marines. By the way, 35,000 U.S. Army and Marines secured the South Korean border for the past 50 years. Not one single illegal North Korean ever crossed the border! Fancy that!
Today, 460,000 illegal aliens and their children in Arizona face imminent job losses from SB 1070. It will prosecute, fine and jail anyone that hires an illegal alien. Without jobs, those illegals will flee to California, Nevada, New Mexico and other states—thus creating major work, housing, school, medical and prison crises.

Finally, someone stood up for Arizona, for Americans! Every state may use the Arizona law for a template to bring the long ordeal of illegal immigration to an end. No country can remain a country without its secured borders no more than any home can be a safe haven for its family without a secured front and back door.
Mr. Obama: you are misguided and we will let you know about it in November. This nation tires of your equivocating, your lack of respect for our rights as citizens, your lack of enforcing our laws, lack of respect for our borders and your pandering to illegal aliens.
As my daddy said, "If you want it done right, you have to do it yourself." If Obama won't, we will!

CHILLING COSTS OF ILLEGAL ALIEN MIGRATION

By Frosty Wooldridge

In 2003, according to the Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles, 57,600 cars were stolen in Phoenix. It is now the car-jacking capital of the world. Most were SUV's and pickup trucks. At a conservative average of $15,000.00 per vehicle, owner losses exceeded $864 million. Insurance companies in the state suffered incredible claims from policyholders.
Worse, how would you like to walk out of your home or business to see your car gone? Imagine the hassle, violation of your hard work and disrespect for your well being.
Where did those vehicles go? Who stole them? Take a guess. Arizona is the temporary home of 500,000 illegal aliens. They cost Arizona taxpayers over $1 billion annually in services for schools, medical care, welfare anchor babies, loss of tax base and prisons. Illegals use those vehicles for smuggling more people and drugs from around the world into our country. When the vehicles are recovered, they are smashed-up wrecks in the desert. If not found, they have new owners south of the border as thieves drive the cars through the desert and into Mexico as easily as you drive your kids to soccer practice. THAT's how porous our borders are!
The chilling costs of illegal migration reach like an octopus into every aspect of our lives. Illegal aliens displaced American workers at a cost in excess of $133 billion dollars last year according to Harvard Professor George Borjas. College and high school kids cannot find a summer job in yard care, landscape, fast food or service jobs. Why? Illegal aliens work them at a third the wage and often, under the table.
Not only do your kids not have jobs; you're paying taxes for illegal aliens who are not paying taxes.
Annually, 75 percent of drugs arrive from Mexico at a net cost of $120 billion hard currency that leaves our country for good. In addition, our tax dollars pay $80 billion for the War on Drugs each year. It is a war that hasn't been won in the past 30 years and drugs are as available today to your teenager as they were in 1970.
When an alien criminal gets caught for rape, murder or drug distribution, you pay $1.6 billion annually in prison costs to house, feed and clothe those filling 30 percent of our federal and state prisons—not to mention TV, movies, weight rooms and other entertainment—they enjoy while being incarcerated.
Is your blood boiling at this point? How about illegal alien anchor babies? Over 300,000 women annually arrive pregnant and drop them on U.S. soil. You pay food, housing, medical and schooling for them to age 18 PLUS their mother. According to the Center for Immigration Studies, average annual cost per child K-12 is $7,161.00 and exceeds $109 billion annually per cycle of anchor babies. That's your money given out to 300,000 moms and their kids annually and all they did was get pregnant and birth that child on U.S. soil.
If you haven't had a heart attack by now, you'll need Tums after this figure. The average head of household illegal alien costs you $2,700.00 in welfare money over and above any taxes he or she pays in their meager paying jobs. With 15 to 20 million illegal aliens in the USA, that figures exceeds $20 billion of your tax dollars. (Source: Center for Immigration Studies, August 2004)
How about the $56 billion in pure cash illegal migrants sent to their home countries last year and every year? That's after their kids enjoyed free education, free lunches and free medical care paid for by you. Mexico receives $15 billion annually from its worker drones. No wonder Vicente Fox sent us 9.2 million illegal alien Mexicans so far.
The lifetime net fiscal drain—taxes paid minus services used—for an adult immigrant is $55,200.00 according to Carrying Capacity Network. Who makes that money up? You do! Your work! Your taxes!
With a minimum of 15 million illegal aliens in our country, these figures are the tip of the iceberg. Average bilingual education is $1,200.00 per illegal alien student. Get this! We educate 1.1 million illegal alien children each year. Do the math! Ready for another anvil dropped on your toe fact? You paid $27 billion to provide forms, ballots, interpreters and brochures for languages other than English in 2003.
An estimated one-third to one-half illegal aliens work off the books. It costs $200 million to provide for emergency health care for illegal aliens in the Border States annually. California with over three million illegals paid $79 million, BUT four of their major LA hospitals bankrupted and shut their doors in 2004. Texas with 1.5 million illegal aliens paid $74 million in hospital care. Who is Texas? You, the taxpayer, that's who! Because you, in your state, pay commensurate medical care according to your illegal alien population. Georgia ran a $63 million deficit for 64,000 unpaid doctor visits to their Grady Health Care system in 2002. In the same year, Georgia taxpayers paid $27 million for 11,188 anchor baby hospital births. Georgia taxpayers paid a whopping $242 million for educating illegal alien kids in 2003. What is it in your state?
What are the consequences? One in two adult African-Americans in New York is unemployed. African-American children's poverty grew by 50 percent since 1999. Why? Their dads can't find work.
It costs you, the taxpayer, $68 billion a year JUST to pay for the resettlement of legal immigrants.
Fellow Americans, we are $7.384 trillion in debt as of November 1, 2004. This year's budget deficit exceeds $413 billion. Our trade deficit stands at $400 billion. Our consumer debt exceeds $2 trillion and our average credit card carries an $8,000.00 balance. Our U.S. government borrows $1.6 billion daily from foreign banks, just to stay afloat. Have you ever heard of the Titanic? We are taking on heavy immigration numbers while we're being financially bled to death. Are we in trouble or what?
Who brings this fiscal nightmare into America? Take a guess. The majority of your Congress! President George W. Bush himself! Tom Ridge, who won't guard our borders from this invasion, but gets his orders from Bush! Illegals are arriving at over 4,000 per night according to Time Magazine, September 12, 2004, "Who Left the Door Open?" I quote, "That total of illegal aliens flooding into the United States this year will total three million—enough to fill 22,000 737 Boeing airliners, or 60 flights every day for a year." Don't you think with that many illegals crossing nightly that anyone with a brain would send troops to our border to protect from an invasion? Since we just re-elected the same Congress and president, you can expect more of the same.
You can count on your corporations devouring cheap labor as they send you to the unemployment lines. Additionally, they pay PAC groups to keep senators and congressmen in their back pocket. How do I know? Only 22 companies in 2003 were taken to court for hiring illegal aliens. None went to jail. However, it's a $10,000.00 fine per illegal alien hired and up to five years in prison. You would think that would deter corporations. Not when they've bought off enforcement!
Who else figures in this grand scheme? Your governors and mayors who provide sanctuary laws for illegal aliens! Mayor Bloomberg of New York City.
Governor Baldacci of Maine! Governor Bill Owens of Colorado! Mayor Hickenlooper of Denver! Mayor of Los Angeles! Mayor of San Francisco! Mayor of Chicago! Mayor of Miami! How do I know? All those cities and dozens more give sanctuary to illegal aliens with Special Order 40.
Illegals remain in our country with exemption from arrest—yet, they are federal criminals!
Can you blame millions of desperate people for coming illegally to America? Hardly! Do you think they will stop coming since the world adds 80 million annually of poor, hopeless people from war torn, ravaged and impoverished Third World countries?
Not a chance! This is the land of free milk and honey. As long as our leaders allow the invasion and not enough Americans speak up, you can expect 12 million more illegal aliens in the next four years. Who pays for this invasion of your country? You do!
As a final note, if you're as sick of this nation-destroying dilemma as I am, go to my web site. I'll send you an action letter with 17 effective points to change our nation's suicidal course. Whatever your talent, you will become a part of this movement to save our country from this disaster being brought to us by our leaders. You may send that action email out to your friends and they can send it to their friends. As Americans we must link arms, hearts and minds to take action to preserve our country and force our leaders to stop this illegal immigration madness. It's called a 'consciousness shift' and it's going to take every one of us. That means everything you do, COUNTS!
