The Chicago Council on Public Affairs poll, released Thursday, asked: Should The United States bring its military forces into the war on the side of Israel against Iran?

In comments angrily condemning Russia for its announced sale of the P-800 cruise missiles to Syria, Israeli officials are suggesting that they intend to sell weapons to Russia's enemies, if for no other reason than to spite them.



Israel's ability to actually follow through with revenge arms sales seems unclear, however, as Russia doesn't really have a lot of enemies which it is liable to go to war with at any given time. The only obvious candidate would be Georgia, but both Israel and the US had been arming Georgia for years, and it doesn't seem like it is even theoretically possible for the two to arm the tiny nation enough that it poses a threat to Russia itself.

DEADLY U.S. TERROR ATTACK IN FALLUJAH

BAGHDAD--Three car bombs kill scores of innocent people in Baghdad and Fallujah on Sunday. Attacks claimed the lives of 36 Iraqis. U.S. invaders currently station 50,000 occupation troops in Iraq despite a formal declaration of an end to combat on September 1st 2010.



"It was a big explosion, and dust and smoke filled my house," said Abu Shahad, who lives about 200 yards from the blast site. "I went out and saw a big, black cloud hanging over the area where the bomb exploded, and I rushed there because I have relatives living there."

He said his cousin and her child were killed and another cousin was wounded.

Minutes earlier, another car bomb killed at least 10 people and injured 10 others along a commercial artery of Baghdad's Mansour neighborhood, said army Brig. Gen. Ali Fadhal, who is responsible for the western half of the city.

NETHERLANDS HALTS ISRAELI DELEGATION VISIT

"The Netherlands has cancelled a tour by an Israeli delegation to the country after it discovered participant list includes Jewish settlers living in the West Bank.



The Dutch Foreign Ministry decided on Sunday to cancel the tour after it found out that regional council heads from the Judea and Samaria regions — including the West Bank settlements Efrat and Kiryat Arba — were due to fly to the Netherlands next month to study public policy and local governance. "The Guardian reported on Monday that the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agreed to extend the partial settlement building freeze for three months in return for the release of an American jailed for life on charges of spying for Tel Aviv Jonathan Pollard.



Pollard was a former navy intelligence analyst who was arrested by the FBI on charges of selling classified material to Israel, which was later sold to the Soviets. In 1987, Pollard was convicted of espionage and sentenced to life imprisonment. Pollard's wife, Anne, was also handed a five-year jail term for assisting her husband."

ZIONIST SQUATTER KILLS PALESTINIAN MAN

In Zionist occupied East Al-Quds (Jerusalem): 32-year-old Palestinian man Samir Sarhan was martyred in Sloan district by a Zionist Jew assailant whose nationality is not yet known.



The perpetrator is said to be a squatter occupying the settlement in Silwan. Two other Palestinians were also wounded in the attack.

ISRAELI SQUATTERS RANSACK WEST BANK OLIVE FARMS

"Israeli settlers have attacked Palestinian olive groves in the West Bank cities of Nablus and Qalqilya, looting part of the farmers' harvest. A Palestinian official in charge of the Israeli settlement file in northern West Bank said tens of Israelis from the nearby Yitzhar settlement clashed with Palestinian farmers on Tuesday, Qods news agency reported.



"Israeli settlers' violations in Palestinian territories have not stopped even for a single day," PA official Ghassan Daghlas said in an interview with the state-funded BBC Arabic television on Tuesday. Ghassan, who monitors Israel's settlement activities in the northern West Bank, further explained how Israeli settlers destroy Palestinian irrigation systems, attack farmers, vandalize their properties and ransack their harvest.

FREEDOM FLOTILLA ATTACK BRANDED "WILFUL KILLING"

A UN probe bashes Israel for committing "wilful killing" and torture when its troops attacked a Gaza-bound aid flotilla in May. The UN probe also termed as 'unlawful' the continuation of the blockade that has caused great physical and mental harm to the Gaza resident.



"The blockade is unlawful and cannot be sustained in law. This is so regardless of the grounds on which it is sought to justify the legality of the blockade," said the inquiry report.

PLO ACCUSES ISRAEL OF STATE TERRORISM

The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) reiterates statements made in 1988 by rightly accusing Israeli leaders of covering up their ethnic cleansing of al-Quds (Jerusalem) with negotiations.

Ahmad Qurei, PLO's official in charge of al-Quds affairs, issued a statement on Wednesday, condemning the killing of a Palestinian man in the neighbourhood of Silwan in occupied East al-Quds earlier in the day.

"Palestinian Resistance movement Hamas announced on Thursday it had arrested many Palestinians in Gaza on suspicion of collaborating with the Israeli enemy. 'Hamas' spokesman for Gaza's interior ministry, said some of the suspected spies were accused of aiding Israel in a late 2008 war in which 1,400 Palestinians were martyred.

VIENNA: The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has once again voted against a resolution that called on Israel to join the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).



The United States swayed the 151-member states of the UN nuclear agency to reject the Arab-proposed resolution, which called on Tel Aviv to open up its nuclear activities to inspection.

After the release of a UN report about the Israeli attack on a Turkish-flagged Gaza-bound aid ship, one of the survivors says she hopes the UK will finally take action.

IDF TERRORISTS KILL PALESTINIAN MAN IN AL-QUDS

A Palestinian has been shot dead by Israeli forces near the occupied city of Al-Quds (Jerusalem). The shooting took place in al-Issawiya, a village located just north of East al-Quds, a Press TV correspondent reported.



In another development, a 31-year-old man sustained injuries after Israeli forces fired live ammunition at protesters at a weekly anti-apartheid wall rally in the West Bank village of Bil'in.

A new report by an Israeli body shows that Tel Aviv did not freeze its settlement expansion or even considerably halt it in the occupied Palestinian territories during a self-declared freeze.



Israel's Central Bureau of Statistics said there were settlement units in various stages of construction before the restrictions were imposed last November.The number rose in the last quarter of last year, indicating a last-minute surge of housing starts in the days leading up to the freeze, which ends on Sunday.

IDF TERROR ATTACK MARTYRS PALESTINIAN YOUTH

A Palestinian man has died of his injuries sustained during an Israeli attack which took place near a village in the northern Gaza Strip, a report says. The military wing of the Islamic resistance movement of Hamas, al-Qassam brigades, reported the death of the victim named Mahmud al-Ahmarine, 21, on Saturday.



According to AFP Israeli tanks had opened fire on the 21-year-old and two of his fellow Gazans near the village of Juhr al-Dik located in east of the Gaza City earlier in the month.
