Not quite Canoga Park... but brought back some memories... especially the stockyards and "Vice Lords" graffiti... with the "V" or "Star of David"  and the Pronged "Trident" sticking out... Keep'em Loaded.. cause on the East side you can hear the random "crackles" of gunfire in the distance... at least I did back in the early 90's when I drove these streets... there are also packs of feral dogs running wild...   ;)

St. Louis tops list of most dangerous US cities

TRENTON, N.J. -- A national study finds St. Louis overtook Camden, N.J., as the nation's most dangerous city in 2009.

The study released Sunday by CQ Press found St. Louis had 2,070.1 violent crimes per 100,000 residents, compared with a national average of 429.4. That helped St. Louis beat out Camden, which topped last year's list and was the most dangerous city for 2003 and 2004.

Detroit, Flint, Mich., and Oakland, Calif., rounded out the top five.

For the second straight year, the safest city with more than 75,000 residents was Colonie, N.Y.

The annual rankings are based on population figures and crime data compiled by the FBI. Some criminologists question the findings, saying the methodology is unfair.

Crime

East St. Louis has one of the highest crime rates in the United States. According to FBI's data of 2007, its murder rate hit 101.9 per population of 100,000, surpassing that of cities such as Gary, Indiana (48.3 per pop. 100,000), New Orleans, Louisiana (37.6), Baltimore, Maryland (43.3), and Detroit, Michigan (47.3), as well as that of its neighbor St. Louis (37.2). FBI data shows East St. Louis' rate of rape exceeded 250 per population of 100,000.

East Saint Louis and Opa Locka, Florida have the highest crime rates in the United States (Opa Locka had the absolute highest crime rate in 2003 and 2004 for cities of any population.)

The following table shows East St. Louis's crime rate in six crimes that Morgan Quitno uses for its calculation for "America's most dangerous cities" ranking, in comparison to the national average:[14] Year: 2006 number of crimes per 100,000.

The Group and Sax player is Eric Person , a native St. Louisian.  The song is "Implications" and I would say that this artist is definitely exceptional; the Best of CD of his called "Reflections" has this song on it.

In an episode of Leave It to Beaver, Hugh Beaumont (Ward Cleaver) mentioned that Barbara Billingsley (June Cleaver) was the "Former Belle of East St. Louis."
