I try not to post or research while I'm on vacation but I always seem to find the time :D

I arrived in Munich on Thursday and today we crossed the border into Czech Republic. I've heard that travelers crossing borders are usually told to expect to go through a security check point, were they will often be asked to provide various documents.

Considering that all of Europe is allegedly on high alert, there wasn't even a sentry at the border of Czech Republic as we crossed from Germany. It was a nice day so maybe they were all at the pub or out hunting or something.

The atmosphere in Prague was quite laid back, with lots of tourists out drinking, partying, being all merry and whatnot. But there was a terror scare tonight after police claimed to have found a suspicious car with tint that was too dark. They had closed down the street and wouldn't let any cars go through so we had to walk to our restaurant instead of our taxi dropping us off in front. One of the girls with us groaned in disgust as if she wasn't believing any of it. I got a photo but it is too big and I don't have any editing capabilities.

Another weird thing is that I have seen zero, and I mean not one migrant/refugee yet, but maybe that will change when we get to Budapest. I'll give another update if it's warranted.

maz, Czech and most of EEuropeans have closed their borders to migrants and migrants don't want to go there anyway.
Please keep us updated!!

If you get some rain, and get confined to your hotel, you might get some TV time, and, if you get CNN, the BBC, or something like that, then you might see some refugees.

Hey, Maz, speaking of Czech and drinking, don't know if you drink, but, if so, do you know about Budějovický Budvar?
http://www.budejovickybudvar.cz/en/index.html

Long, sad story about a wonderful beer.  When I lived in Ireland, I drank in a pub whose owner whose family was well established in the drinks trade, and his pub was the first to get
Budějovický Budvar, and I made damned sure I got the first bottle, and, believe me, it is absolutely fantastic.

Budějovický Budvar has been around for centuries - maybe about 500 years? - and has always been know as the Beer of Kings.  It's a small brewery, but it exports around the world.

Well, the shitheads at Anheuser-Busch stole the name to create Budweiser, and the twisted Beer of Kings to create their King of Beers logo.   That was fine when Budweiser was a domestic brand, but, as it became international, it ran into this brand that people called Bud, and this was a problem.  Budweiser had the UK controlled, as well as the US bases in Europe, but they went around suing and bullying this poor little company all over the world.  I remember looking one time, and the fuckers were suing these people in Korea, for fuck sake.

The problem was that, when Budějovický Budvar started business, there was absolutely no such thing as a trademark - the first trademark was the triangle for Bass Ale - so they just went about their business, only to have these God-damned shitheads from Anheuser-Busch start bullying them all around the world.

They held out valiantly, but they had state support, and the Czech government stopped supporting them, I think, so they had to sell-out to the fuckers at Anheuser-Busch.  They will ruin it.

Have always HATED Budweiser - overpriced to pay for advertising to convince stupid fucking American to drink their God-awful rice-based piss - and, when arriving at airport in Ireland, was absolutely shocked and mad as Hell to see big sign showing that Anheuser-Busch was sponsoring the Budweiser Irish Derby.  Thought "for fuck sake," can get away from the God-damned piss.

Met another Yank in airport hotel bar - me arriving, he leaving - and we discussed this terrible situation, and the possibility of Budweiser taking over Guinness, and, almost in unison, we said "they'll just fuck it up."

Drove me fucking crazy to see the Irish spending absolute top price for fucking Budweiser piss, because it was "chilled" for fuck sake.

Bar owner mentioned before had pretty daughter who lived in England and was actually dating, or maybe married to, the Anheuser-Busch sales manager for England, and maybe Ireland, too, and, believe it or not, in that small pub that fucker on night stood about 3-4 feet from me, and never never NEVER greater temptation to just absolutely cuss somebody out and hit 'em.

God-damned bastard polluting the world with their piss, and, now, no doubt, that have, or will soon, ruin Budějovický Budvar.

Drink one, a dozen, a barrel for me.  Lucky you.

As unfortunate as your story is, it doesn't surprise me. 500 years is a damn good run lol and all good things come to an end, even at the hands of Anheuser-Busch. All of that sucks though for sure. I love a good beer, and I've  drank everything that has been put in front of my face. I've had some really nice beers here as well as a few I wasn't fond of. One  brand that I really liked was Master, a darker beer that seems to be in between a Marzen and a stout. That was excellent.

So leaving Prague tomorrow so I'll let you know if I see something interesting.
