Senator Chuck Grassley on Politicization of the Supreme Court In
remarks on the Senate floor, Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Chuck
Grassley criticizes Chief Justice John Roberts, saying he is
contributing to politicization of the Supreme Court. He also talks
about the ongoing debate over consideration of President Obama's
nominee, saying, "The confirmation process doesn't make the justices
appear political, the confirmation process has gotten political
precisely because the Court itself has drifted from the constitutional
text and rendered decisions based instead on policy preferences."

``I hope that the fair, and, I may say certain prospects of success will not induce us to relax.''
-- Lieutenant General George Washington, commander-in-chief to
   Major General Israel Putnam,
   Head-Quarters, Valley Forge, 5 May, 1778

This is one of the most veracious and finest speeches in the Senate
since the ending of World War 2, giving a deserved judgment to Supreme
Court Justices Sotomayor, Roberts and Kagan. The ill backwardness of Chief
Justice Roberts could not be better illustrated, than by R-Iowa Sen.
Grassley in his position as Chairman of the Judiciary Committee. The
gloves are coming off ...
