As for why Islam allows this, well, what is considered taboo and what is not is a matter of
culture and upbringing. Most muslims don't feel there is anything taboo about marrying a

Well to be honest I'm shocked that Google (`Don't be evil') proclaims
that inside the EU fist cousin marriages have no legal boundaries. Be
sure to understand that before the shit was hitting the fan in the EU
Christians, Catholics, Protestants, Jews etc. were prohibited to even
lay their eyes on first cousins, let alone marry them. So somehow the
Google crackpot freaks are implicitly propagandizing that inside the EU
no Christian or Jewish rules are followed. Instead Google implies that
sharia law and Islam values are leading the way inside the European
Union.
