Oculus engineer Dov Katz arrested in sting after allegedly soliciting sex from a 15-year-old girl



Seattle police arrested Oculus' Head of Computer Vision Dov Katz on December 23rd in a sting operation in which a police officer posed as a 15-year-old girl. Katz allegedly arrived at an Embassy Suites in Tukwila, Washington with $600 after agreeing in texts messages to pay $300 for sex without a condom.

Katz told police he was there to rescue the girl.

Local television affiliate King 5 reported on the arrest. Katz is to be arraigned on January 5th and bail is set at $125,000. Katz has extensive experience in computer vision and has worked at Oculus VR since 2013. Facebook bought the company in 2014.

Sex with a 15 year old girl is NOT pedophilia. That's normal marriage age south of the border, and 100 years ago it was very common in this country. The policy behind statutory rape laws is to stop out of wedlock births.  When I was under 18 there were a lot of girls I knew that were "hot to trot". 

If a girl is sexually mature then I don't see anything wrong with her getting married and having children. I don't think it is healthy to encourage young girls to have sex outside of marriage, and without the purpose of procreating. I also do not think it is normal to encourage everyone to get a college degree. Most degrees are worthless; e.g. "women's studies".  Society would tell us that we should send girls to university, and supply them with contraceptives while they sleep around for four years studying sociology or some other complete waste of time. Some women go on to pursue a career and prevent themselves from having babies until they can no longer have babies without medical assistance. But we are trained to look down on the "ignorant Mexicans", where the girls plan to get married soon after their quinceanera.

I agree somewhat, but there are good reasons why the age of consent for females should not be lowered. For one, the average American 15 year old girl today are so infantilized that they are practically retarded. They are probably nothing like a 15 year old girl 100 years ago. Heck not even the same as the average 15 year old 30 years ago. And certainly not the same as a 15 year old in Mexico. The average 15 year old boys are probably even worse.

A typical 15 year old girl is likely going to make a lot of dumb decisions, get knocked up and discarded.
