Huge global storm is starting, Moscow warns
"Absurd" decisions by the US and the EU are to blame, the Kremlin press secretary says

The world is about to experience major turbulence as a result of illogical moves by Western nations, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.

"Most likely, a huge global storm is starting," Peskov warned in an interview with Tass on Monday.

"In many ways, there are objective reasons for that, but there are also subjective reasons for this beginning storm, which are linked to absolutely illogical and often absurd decisions and actions of the authorities in the US, Europe, the EU and individual European countries," he said.

The sanctions imposed by the US, the EU and some other nations on Russia over its military operation in Ukraine have backfired causing a spike in energy prices and record inflation across the West.

In this situation, Russia "still manages to maintain macroeconomic stability. Very intense, thoughtful and consistent work is being carried out in order to achieve that," Peskov noted.

"As restrictions are being artificially introduced in the West, [Russia's] trade and economic relations are understandably starting to focus more on the East," he added.

However, the Kremlin press secretary, who was speaking at the launch of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, insisted that "it was completely unfair to say that we have turned to the East just now... the Asia-Pacific region has always been a very important component for trade and economic relations, and energy dialogue, and other areas."

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN PLAN B IS JUST MORE OF PLAN A?

Plan A. The Russian economy is completely dependent on energy sales to Europe to get real money. Putin is a crook who has to pay off the other crooks to stay at the top. Got it? We'll stop buying Russian gas, the Russian economy will collapse and the second level thugs will take out Putin and All Will Be Well. Couple of months. Max. Our best and brightest think tankers assure us in February and March that this is The Thing To Do. Sanction everything! Sanction more! Virtue signal sanctioning! Ballet dancers! Tchaikovsky sucks! Dostoevsky's a bore! Netrebko sings flat! Easy. Fun. And, above all, trendy. Feel virtuous and smug for no cost because Putin will be soon gone.

(Personal note – I love the Internet because all this nonsense is so easy to find. I remember that all this crap is out there but I forget the details. But the Net remembers and I can find it quickly. Anybody remember when Putin died and his body double took over?)

Fast forward six months and what are we looking at? Tough winter for Britons. Hard winter for Europe. Ten terrible winters to come. Supply chains collapse. Record Euro zone inflation. Germany's energy options dwindling. US food prices rising fast. "Sitting On A Tinderbox." But cheer up – we don't care what you think and suck it up!

Who could have possibly foreseen this? Who could have imagined that sanctioning the number one exporter of wheat, two of the biggest exporters of potash, the number one gas exporter, the number two oil exporter and a big exporter of things you'd never heard of could rebound on the good guys?

What would some Putin-paid conspiracy-theory dis-informationist have said back in those fun times so far away now? How about two errors Western Russia "experts" make all the time? Nah, more disinformation by a pseudo-expert – real experts say Russian economy's imploding. Decline started. On the brink. Collapsing. Collapsed. But that was then – a million years ago. Who's smirking now? Back in March the NYT was wondering whether Putin was rational; now it says he's "patient and confident". (Do NYT readers wear neck collars to protect against whiplash?)

Anybody with an IQ above – what? Absolute Zero? Idiocracy level? – might begin to suspect that Our Masters are losing the plot. They keep telling us that the Russian economy is collapsing, that Putin is crazy as a bed bug and about to be overthrown, the Ukrainian army is just about to send the Russian orcs back to Mordor and that Western super-weapons will crush the Russians (remember when the Bayraktar drone was the "secret weapon"?) But they've been saying this for months now and General Steiner still hasn't got here.

So, unless you are stupider than the dictionary allows the definition to be, ya gotta admit that Plan A hasn't worked. Time to unleash Plan B.

Ah... Plan B... we know it's there... look around... any one seen it?... come on guys... it's gotta be there... under that desk?... what about that drawer? ... nobody makes a Plan A without a Plan B... look harder... ah! There it is!

Hah hah! We're not idiots... of course we had a Plan B. And – tah dah – here it is!

Quotethe provision of such services would only be allowed if the oil and petroleum products are purchased at or below a price ("the price cap") determined by the broad coalition of countries adhering to and implementing the price cap.

Eat that Putin!!!

Even (even) the journalists typists can see the problem with this – "It's unclear whether key buyers of Russian barrels, including China and India, will participate." Unclear to you, but not to me.

Ladies and Gennelmen! Put your money down on whether China and India sign on!

What are the chances? Zero? Minus one hundred? Less? Place your bet!

There isn't any Plan B.

Well, actually, there is a Plan B but it's not for us.

So long suckers!
