a corrosive indictment of Cecil Rhodes; The Sun's Bright Child (1975) by Kenneth Griffith from the Prisoner. I came across info that he was making a Cecil Rhodes docu, but can't seem to find out any more about it. It is not even listed in imdb

Griffith, Kenneth (1921-2006)

By extension of his love-hate interest in events relating to Africa, Griffith wrote, narrated and acted out A Touch of Churchill, A Touch of Hitler (BBC tx. 30/7/1971), the controversial story of Cecil Rhodes' influence in South Africa, Black as Hell and Thick as Grass (BBC tx. 27/1/1979), a bitter lament for the futility of the 1879 British-Zulu War, and Zola Budd - The Girl Who Didn't Run (BBC tx. 24/4/1989), in which he described the young Afrikaner athlete as the victim of liberal hypocrisy.

Sounds like an interesting film maker. Very few people know the history of southern Africa and such unsavory morsels as the first modern concentration camps being established by the British during the Boar War.

Zola Budd. Poor thing, to have all that hatred and ire foisted upon her bare feet. As a track fan I didn't like her, either, but that was because she tripped up Mary Decker and probably cost her a medal.

I read something not that long ago that said Zola still runs for fitness.

I lived in Amsterdam for year, before moving to Sweden, and to tell the truth, even though that I considered myself as more informed than the masses, it was a shock when this Dutch guy at a party told me that. I didn't believe him until I check it out and got confirmation from multiple sources.
