"US to conduct unprecedented surveillance over Internet"

02 July, 2009, 12:45

US Internet users fear that the US National Security Agency is going to conduct fishnet-type surveillance without any predicate, says investigative journalist and RT contributor Wayne Madsen from Washington D.C.

President Barack Obama has announced that a special person is going to overlook the safety of government and military computer systems to protect them from attack.

But some believe that the 'Cyber Tsar' is just a way to spy upon people online.

After the Revolution of 1905, the Czar had prudently prepared for further outbreaks by transferring some $400 million in cash to the New York banks, Chase, National City, Guaranty Trust, J.P.Morgan Co., and Hanover Trust. In 1914, these same banks bought the controlling number of shares in the newly organized Federal Reserve Bank of New York, paying for the stock with the Czar\'s sequestered funds. In November 1917,  Red Guards drove a truck to the Imperial Bank and removed the Romanoff gold and jewels. The gold was later shipped directly to Kuhn, Loeb Co. in New York.-- Curse of Canaan

they're already spying on everybody.  that doesn't mean they can bring up everybody's information, just that it's easier to Hoover it all up than to listen to specific targets.

once they've Hoover'ed, then they use data-mining algorithms to find 'potential bad guys'.  in addition to selecting out the data-streams of the 'bad guys' that they've already targeted for surveillance.

the government already has thousands of network security people, in addition to tens of thousands of network people at various sub-contractors.  obviously there are managers in the chain, and for sure there is already a manager who is the 'top manager' and is technically playing the role of "cyber security tsar", without the badge.

i think Obama is trying to look presidential & maybe hire someone who will deliver a desired piece of advice.

as far as making the world safe from "the bad guys" ... he should look at a globe and maybe visit the website

he will find out everything he needs to know about bad guys.  HE'S SURROUNDED BY THEM.

I sorry to break the bad news to you but 10 years ago or so when I worked for a major ISP all pipes were required to go through NSA black boxes where they data mined. so maybe this is just an upgrade.
