Forty years after the Apollo 11 voyage to the moon, NASA released photographs from the new Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter spacecraft Friday showing five of the six Apollo landing sites. Shadows cast by the Apollo descent stages are clearly visible and in some cases, the moon walkers' paths can be seen in the disturbed dust.

"We were very interested in getting our first peek at the lunar module descent stages just for the thrill - and to see how well the cameras had come into focus," Mark Robinson, principal investigator of the LRO's main camera, said in a statement. "Indeed, the images are fantastic and so is the focus."

The Apollo 11, 14, 15, 16, and 17 landing sites were photographed between July 11 and 15. The Apollo 12 landing site will be imaged during upcoming orbits.

Launched June 18, the Lunar Reconnaissance orbiter braked into an initially elliptical orbit around the moon on June 23. It eventually will be maneuvered into a circular 31-mile-high orbit, allowing it to photograph surface features - including the Apollo landing sites - with three times greater resolution than the pictures released Friday.

Equipped with seven state-of-the-art cameras and other instruments, LRO was built to look for suitable landing sites for future manned missions while creating the most detailed lunar atlas ever assembled.

The solar-powered spacecraft also will measure the solar and cosmic radiation that future lunar explorers will face and map out the surface topology, mineralogy, and chemical composition of Earth's nearest neighbor. One year will be spent scouting future landing sites followed by three years of purely scientific observations.

What is THIS?  I can't see ANYTHING at all, and the one thing that I can see looks..."odd."  There is a whole lot coming-out from NASA about the moon landings, for some reason.  This doesn't prove anything at all, as far as I can see.  What does anyone else think?

I think the apollo landings are pure sh*t. I don't think any men have walked on the moon.  The videos showing people walking on the moon are all in slow motion, there are these suspicious "pings" that can only be explained by wires holding up the astornuts, the "sun's" reflection on the visors of people on the "moon" don't look like the reflections of people proven to be in near earth orbit, etc....

40 years after the fact, there is not a single independent verification of the landings.  Now NASA sends up an LRO.  What for?  Could anyone possibly suspect that NASA would send up a craft that would reveal their own hoax?  Of course the LRO is going to show "evidence" of the apollo missions.  

Here is part of a message I sent to Jurrah White on youtube, who is a specialist in debunking the apollo hoax.

"I somehow doubt that the fraud will be that easy to detect.

On the other hand, any conspiracy in NASA to cover up the moon hoax would have to be limited because I don't think many people would be willing participants. Compartmentalization can compensate for this by not allowing people to see the "big picture", but that only goes so far.

A Lunar Orbiter is looking at something and sending pictures. 1) What is the LRO looking at? 2) Are the pictures doctored?

If the LRO is not looking at the moon, then it could be found out by revealing some true anomaly that is not present in the pictures.

If the pictures are doctored, then the layering technique might be useful....I know that video layering techniques have been used to catch fakes. (That is where a video is examined by a computer that can spot the time at which information was added to the picture. i.e. If the moon picture has one date and the "landing vehicle" has another, later date, then voila: fraud.)"

I think Mythbusters are asholes and frivolous, but, can we at least agree that the Federal Reserve issues ARE a lot more important to ours lifes than fighting the ghosts of NASA's intrigues ?

I have no idea what the photographs are intended to be.  Additionally, I have serious doubts about the credibility of the News source. Lastly, it could be proof of a lunar landing or it could be proof of an alien alien civilization.  Lets go with ET.

Why waste our time focusing on a scenario that is a waste of time anyway you look at it. Yes, there is all sorts of evidence which suggests that we "mankind" didn't get there but so what? This moon landing scenario is a weapon of mass distraction, ignore them. Focus on the Lisbon treaty, the economic fraud, the flu, what relevance does mankind landing on the moon have? If they ask you if you think we didn't get to the moon you turn the question around and expose the fact that they are trying to distract people from focusing on real time issues, ask them what relevance to things happening right now does the moon landing scenario have. One of the students got to know him a little, and then found out about the tiu board etc, and why everything was, the way it was - the teacher's ugly-ass daughter, the energy surrounding his relationship with other teachers and pretty-much any staff members: he was an askenazi jew.
